Planning, strategizing and learning are all good things, but they don't produce a result until you take action.

"I begin each day of my life with a ritual: I wake up at 5:30 am, put on my work out clothes, my leg warmers, my sweatshirts, and my hat. I walk outside my Manhattan home, hail a taxi, and tell the driver to take me to the Pumping Iron gym at 91st Street and First Avenue, where I work out for two hours. The ritual is not the stretching and weight training I put my body through each morning at the gym; the ritual is the cab. The moment I tell the driver where to go I have completed the ritual."— Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit

I just started this book a few days ago and really love the simplicity of the messages and its artistic vibes . Twyla Tharp, an artist herself, makes it a point that one isn't born an artist or a kiss of God wouldn't make magic but it's the hard work that forms the creative habit. I'm also reading and implementing Atomic Habits by James Clear simultaneously. Both books are a great combo to understand the engineering of habits and ways to use it to make improvements in any area of our lives.

Just a reading idea for winter break. Check them out if you're planning out your 2020. My 2020 will be a year of clarity, clearer work life. These two books give me such a great guideline to create my implementation plan and take action.

Happy Holiday!

hm idk, while super well written and I think habits are essential for many parts of your life it wouldnt work for me. No way, once you are onto something (found something you have traction etc) going in the morning TWO hours to the gym feels so wrong and is imo just wasted time and the time of day of where you are in your best state. You can pump iron for two hours if you have nothing exciting in your life. or if you are employed and want to escape your life and job but dont have a clue how...

However, just jog around the block for 10 minutes in the morning if you need exercise and do a long session in the evening but in the morning 2 fu..ing hours? Pumping iron? this is nuts, never
