Hi folks, If you want to build a big website with lot of features, how do you proceed? What are the best design tool available, I was looking into UML but not sure it is the correct one to pick
I use Figma with a few plugin. Sketch is also popular for this task. Others like to use wireframing focuses tools like Balsamiq.
The book "Project Management for Unofficial Project Managers" suggested mind maps as a way to manage various components of a project. I like that as a starting point for a website/app because it starts with the information architecture and navigation before UI/UX. By understanding the navigation and content first, IMO, it helps make decisions such as "menu across the top or down the side". If you have a large number of menu entries then a menu across the top might not work.
But I think that is all "pre-design" and not what you're asking. I found a free e-book called "Refactoring UI" that suggests a sharpie and paper to start because you can't go into fine details with a sharpie. From there I typically skip straight to HTML/CSS because that's what I know and if something can't be done or is very difficult in HTML/CSS then I'd rather know now.
All that being said, I'm terrible with UI/UX so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.
Thank you! pencil paper I was thinking of already, but I was searching for some kind of diagram kindof
I guess another option is Carrd.co or DivJoy to quickly & easily play around with things.
Thanks! both doesn't fit well for me
