Platform idea, is it worth it?

I am writing a book myself, and i could not find a place to 'market' my book and was forced to create a landing page myself.

So i thought, what if i create a platform to allow users to add their upcoming books (title and an abstract), then allow people to register interest or ecen pre order it, and when published also provide a link to buy it!

Indie gamers have had a great success with communities similar to this, so why should it not work for books?

What are your thoughts guys?

A few places you can list your book

    • Gumroad and thus Gumroad Discover
    • AppSumo Marketplace
    • Goodreads

      Thanks for the reply.

Those sites are good, but they are not created with the sole purpose of advertising indie writer.
      , right?

This is a pretty cool idea, have you started on it? I feel like it wouldn't take a lot of time to make. I would love to work on it with you.

I have not started it, it is on my list of side projects!!

After some research (while publishing my book), I realise that the book editing world is still 20 years behind.

The editors are so old and bad with UI, there is nothing new (API, import), so I really think this project done well cam really be helpful!!!

I'm a recently graduated full stack developer. Let me know if you want to work on this together.
