🔥🔥🔥Please (constructively) roast my startup idea - Studio SuperFrsssh🍋

Pitch Deck Here: https://shorturl.at/AJRU6
Website Here: https://www.studio-superfrsssh.com/

Imagine you're a startup founder who has just launched a new product. You're excited to see how it performs in the market, but you're also feeling overwhelmed by all the different areas of your business that need attention. You need to focus on marketing, sales, development, and support, but you're not sure where to start.

That's where Studio SuperFrsssh comes in. As a one-woman studio, we provide personalized services that help startups like you navigate the world of branding, website and app design. Our unique approach focuses on the customer experience and journey, ensuring that every touchpoint with your brand is cohesive and memorable.

We don't just design beautiful websites and apps; we help you build a coherent brand by breaking down the walls of your department silos. We make sure your marketing talks to support, and your sales talks to the developers, creating a customer-first culture that drives results.

Studio SuperFrsssh is like a co-pilot for founders, helping them navigate the many challenges of branding, website and app design, and creating a customer-centric culture. We're also like a conductor for an orchestra, bringing all the different departments in your business together in a harmonious, cohesive way.

Our target market is funded startups who want to start off on the right foot, and those who are post-revenue but are trying to do more than just break even. We offer three plans - 6 weeks, 10 weeks, and 14 weeks - that allow us to triage, diagnose, prescribe and treat business challenges so founders don't have to throw everything and the kitchen at the wall and see what sticks.

We invite you to take a look at our pitch deck and website to learn more about how we can help you grow your business. And, we welcome your constructive criticism as we continue to evolve and improve our offerings.

Here are some questions on which I would appreciate receiving feedback:

  1. As a startup founder, how much do you value a cohesive brand and a customer-centric culture?

  2. What do you think about Studio SuperFrsssh's approach to design and breaking down department silos in a business?

  3. Would you consider investing in a service like Studio SuperFrsssh to help grow your business, and if so, what factors would influence your decision?

  4. What do you think about Studio SuperFrsssh's pricing plans, and do you think they are reasonable for the services offered?

  5. How would you rate the clarity and effectiveness of Studio SuperFrsssh's pitch deck and website in conveying their value proposition?

  6. What suggestions do you have for Studio SuperFrsssh to improve their offerings or better target their ideal customers?

  7. Finally, based on what you know about Studio SuperFrsssh, do you think there is a viable market for their services?

Thanks a bunch! 😘

I think with the pricing your quoting at.. its critical to know whose behind this.. what does their portfolio and achievements looks like.

Also for a startup... those prices are significant. You can get a decent website built on Fiver.com for like 200$'s, and now you have simple page builders as well for startup founders to showcase their product. P.S im a multi-time founder, and had to consider and try all these things before.

So i would reconsider the audience your targetting or ypur pricing/proposition.

      Thanks for your feedback!

Unfortunately, I don’t see us targeting those who do not see the value in having strategy behind their businesses or their brands. We’ll nonetheless, continue to provide education on the benefits of strategy and how to implement them.

The prices will only continue to rise because strategy is extremely expensive and the clients’ ROI on my work is averaging around 400 to 500X (it does make me feel like an idiot sometimes when my prices are this low but at least my skills are validated. Especially on Demo Day.) consistently for my clients across the board.

We also have another project that will be breaching this USD1m barrier in funding (Their only other competitor has recently acquired over 30mil in Series B so you can guess how much we’re approximately asking for. 😉)

Paying the prices means an investment and a commitment to yourself, your business, your brand, your customers and your future success. I only take on a few clients each month because I choose to put in so much for them. I expect the same in return.

TLDR; Don’t worry! We have a target market! We’re going all in for those who wanna be the next OLIPOP, Glossier, Allbirds. If you obsess over your product/service, we’ll obsess over the delivery and execution of it for your customers. That much is guaranteed.

Adeline, I think it will help if you write a shorter description of your suggestion to
the market, and value proposition for potential customers
And I suggest you write those:

    1. a much shorter description, and
    2. an elevator pitch, like, one short paragraph of a text describing your suggestion
      to the market.

As a help, there is a such book called "Crossing the Chasm" by G. Moore,
absolutely worth reading, but I am not suggesting you read it right now,
I would rather just quote only one key idea from there, idea of promoting startup starting from some its stage:
you describe it in a two part description, like, "we are" you say "some known business-model or
startup with the known model" for "some niche", so, that this combination is a new one.
For example, like "we are Uber for dog-keepers" (totally cooked-up example), or
we are a "internet marketplace for a books", etc, etc. Describing your new unknown using already known examples.
If your startup is not yet in that stage, there are a chapters in book before that,
for earlier stage startups. Hope that helps, ask me if some point is not understandable.

Hello! Thanks for the feedback!! Sounds like I've got to tighten up the copy. I've cleaned up the site's subheading so it's less fluff, more straight to the point:

"Better than Squarespace and with actual gameplans — we're Studio SuperFrsssh, a customer-centric design studio of 1.

We specialize in designing websites, apps, and branding with one thing in mind: creating exceptional customer experiences that drive revenue growth. "

Have yet to trim the fat on the pitch deck to suit but will be doing it soon after!

Nonetheless, I plan to soft launch the site on lapa.ninja, awwwards or land-book to market ourselves asap. The idea is to continuously iterate from day dot.

That red color really burns my retinas...

In reading this post, I'm having trouble understanding what exactly it is that Studio SuperFrsssh does. I have a vague sense that it involves landing pages, design, and brand, but am not clear on what, specifically, that means. In looking at https://www.studio-superfrsssh.com/ I have a similar experience. The "Here’s what you’ll get for a fixed monthly fee." section seems like it addresses it, but I'm not sure if that's it or if there's more.

I'd recommend taking a look at https://www.julian.com/guide/startup/landing-pages. I think he does a great job elaborating on what I'm saying with respect to being super concrete and clear about what it is you're offering.

Hello! Thanks for taking the time out to look through my website and pitch deck. Thanks for the resource as well. Copy is definitely not my strongest suit and that's incredibly helpful to me! I'll spend some time to tighten this up before launch. We do have a header that says "We design websites, apps and brands with your customer's end-to-end experiences in mind."

Have also re-arranged the order of the sections on the landing page so that the portfolio and that above-mentioned section come up right after the heading. We're a web + product + brand design agency that's focused on CX.

Thanks again! I really appreciate this!

Sure thing Adeline! For a while I felt pretty lost on marketing stuff and Julian Shapiro's stuff has really helped me.

Something else I'll add: I think that user research is super, super helpful. Rocket Surgery Made Easy is a great book on the topic and Low Fi Usability Testing is a solid blog post. You're on a great start to that by posting on Indie Hackers but I'd encourage you to keep pushing and do more user research if you haven't already, ie. by cold emailing people.

        1. 1

Yea, I was planning on doing user testing via cold emailing people. Two birds with 1 stone. I'm a UX designer in any case but I suck at marketing so taking this angle would make me alot less nervous and more myself!! Really appreciate your advice! Thank you!

          1. 2

Ah, gotcha, that's cool. Yeah I think there's some helpful overlap with respect to user testing, UX design and marketing. Good luck!
