Please give feedback for the landing page of our dating app

Hello IndieHackers 👋

we are developing a new dating app called pfau with AI features to set it apart from other dating apps. We recently released the first version of our landing page to build an online presence and collect emails from prospects, but we are not experienced designers and marketers.

That's why your feedback is especially important to us. We want to make sure that we can provide our potential users with a clear and appealing representation of our concept. We welcome your thoughts and opinions on the pfau landing page, which you can access at pfau.app 👈

Please let us know:

  • do you understand the concept of our app?
  • what was your first thought when you accessed the page and read the text?
  • does the website and logo look professional

We will include screenshots of the current app within the next two weeks to get an even better idea of the app. For now, it's important to us that the text explains our concept well.

Thanks in advance for your support! We really appreciate being part of this great community.

The over the fold area is very green. It's green on green on green. I find it visually rather dull. Also, the animated background doesn't really contribute anything to the user experience. At most, it draws my attention to the background for no reason, instead of me reading your pitch.

I don't see the purpose of the phone picture. If this would show an amazing screenshot of your app, then yes. Now, no.

"Is pfau a superficial app?" seems like a kind of frequently asked question no one is ever going to ask.

I had to scroll to the very footer of the page to find out the supported platforms. If you say you are making an app, it would be nice to inform the user which platforms you are going to support.

The joining of waitinglist doesn't really provide any incentives for anyone to do so.

Trying to read your Privacy Policy is not easy, because it's not in English. It doesn't seem very user friendly that you ask for my email address, yet, you don't even say what you will do with it (other than possibly in German).

Also, one thing that I need to wonder after reading the landing page is that how are you going to make money? If your pitch is that this is free, what's the catch? How will you make money? I don't wonder this only as an entrepreneur, but also as a user.

Overall, I think the website looks alright, it could be better, though.

Thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it!
The point with the animated start I also see, I was anyway thinking of removing it again, you confirm me with it.

The logo in the phone picture is currently still a placeholder for the screenshots that will come soon. I left it as it is for now to make it clear that it is a mobile app. I hope it will give a better overall picture when the screenshots are added.

Actually, the superficiality question came up several times, but I see your point, maybe I can get it worded better.

Displaying the supported platforms better and working out the waiting list CTA is a good tip I will work on that.

The app will probably be released with a freemium model. You'll have few limitations as a free user though.

    Howdy!

Overall this website is good. The colors and branding is good.

The line "Tired of frustration in online dating? You've come to the right place with us." is weak. Is there a better way you could summarize why I should scroll down or click on your CTA? It will take some work to find it without it sounding cliché like all the other dating apps out there. Why should I pick yours?

The CTA is also not very enticing and blends in with the background. I'd say white with your main green or the dark green from the background. The text should be something exciting like "Find my partner " or even just a "Get Started". Get the click then let them know it's coming soon.

On the "Stay Tuned" text, if I was a non-technical person I don't really care that you're testing it, they just will want to know when it's ready.

And finally, if possible, make the cookie pop up WAY smaller. No one likes those getting in the way. OR depending on your analytics you are using you may not need it entirely.

I think you're really close! Right now the site looks professional enough to get started but the copy needs some work. Hope that helps a bit!

      Howdy back!
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions for improvement I am very grateful!

I actually don't like the line yet either. We are still struggling to find a line that doesn't sound too trashy, but still stands out. I will work on it.

Good point about the color of the CTA. I will try your suggestion. I also think that a bigger contrast is better.

I will also work on the cookie pop up. I sometimes have trouble judging how small the font and spacing should be so it doesn't look ugly.

It doesn't tell me what it does straight away. the pseudo thing I am not sure what i means.
I think it needs to dial down on the idea and show the benefit and who is for straight away.
the smart dating app doesn't state what it'll do for me.

    please review mine.
