Please point out mistakes in my marketing strategy.

I'm an engineer and have built a webgame (https://diffudle.com/). I've posted this on reddit, hackernews, twitter, discord, fb and have generally gotten positive feedback from all of them (check out post history).

Still, I'm hitting a brick wall in terms of user growth. Whenever some posts gets attention, there's traffic uptick but it comes drastically down afterwards. I've tried the following avenues:

  1. Reddit: Got me some great initial traffic but I can't post it repeatedly since this violates rules.

  2. Twitter: I have no following on twitter so messaging/replying people is the only option which I am doing.

  3. Paid Advertising: It's a free webgame so paid advertising is not an option.

The game still gets consistent and repeated traffic so I know there's potential.

What do you all think should be my next step?

I have been writing about Micro SaaS Ideas to a sizeable audience around various trends around Micro SaaS.

Not sure if you are just doing this for fun or you want to build a profitable model on top of this game. Because I see a donation page, I assume you want to start generating revenue.

But any case, here are my thoughts.

    • There is no virality in the game
    • There is no reason for people to come back everyday.

You can think in those terms. If you want to stay in this space for long time and add more games, probably adding a blog and writing about it makes sense.
