Could you guys tell me how I can improve the site's pages further? After many years of stalling, relaunched https://makepassportphoto.com with a new design. I am determined to make daily improvements to the site going forward. Your advice will be immensely helpful.
At the visual design level, the colors are very good and you are using the principles of design very well; The problem that I can see is about UX where the process of creating the photos is a bit confusing, I mean the get start! it's kind of confusing since you are supported the site by ads you should make the creation process more "direct" something like a 2-3 step process, and among them the ads.

try an opt-in form like in this example and see if you increment your effective onboarding.

Hi Patrick, thank you for the wonderful sketch. I am confused , as to where to ask users to decide on the plan (free, paid) ? Because I want that to be selected before taking them to the photo edit pages.
You can do it right after they select the create photo button there you can ask if you want it for free or premium.
What I am thinking is that offering two forms, one free and the other for payment, to a client who may visit you every 2 years or perhaps 5 years would be something convenient? Isn't it better to just do it by charging the 5 usd or just for free and improve the ads? or if you are going to leave it for them to choose make sure that any way you are going to win at least the same
