Please tear my first project to shreds...

I finally opened signups on my first functional solo project - Conote.page!

The idea is to allow users to overlay highlights and comments directly on top of web pages they share/save in order to have more nuanced, less polarizing discussions in the context of the page. Think Google docs-esque comments added to any link you want.

I'd love if you could take a look at this very early beta and give me some constructive feedback? Don't actually tear it to shreds, that would make me sad :(

I've been developing Conote for around 6 months. I've now reached the point where my coding background is not so useful as I need to start (and arguably should have long ago) marketing the site. I'm a complete novice to marketing and would really appreciate if someone could recommend a really comprehensive book/article to learn some basics or if you have any ideas on strategies specific to Conote? I'm hoping that the viral nature of sharing noted links will help out with marketing but I need to get the ball rolling and not rely on it.
