Please vet my startup idea - Content Creation & Publishing Platform
I'm building a content creation and publishing platform that allows companies to produce quality content at a higher velocity and with minimal resources. It also allows publishing content that is optimized for SEO.
Potential Problem:
Companies need a way for their customers to discover organically and one of the ways to accomplish this is through blogs. Companies with sufficient resources can hire content authors, editors, and developers to create, review and publish content. However, this is a challenge for smaller companies & startups where they have more constraints in allocating resources to content creation & publishing.
Solution:
The platform (I'm building) will enable companies to be able to generate content quickly with minimal marketing resources and also will allow them to publish it without needing developer resources. The platform will leverage AI(chatGPT) to suggest a title, and meta descriptions and also writes an SEO-optimized blog that the editor can review, add/edit/delete and I believe this is what will save time & resources. With a click of a button, it gets published on a website. The companies will have the option to point their apex domain/subdomain to the website. They will have options for some branding & layout selections.
Does the problem statement resonate with you or your company? Would you pay for such a solution? Are there existing solutions that do this job well in terms of saving time for marketers and eliminating the need for developers? Would love to hear your feedback.
The market is still young, but I would ask, how does this compare to the other AI writing tools coming out that are just a UI for GPT-3?
Does it produce an entire blog post + SEO optimization? That is definitely unique, but you'll need to do some advanced prompt tuning for that, or users will have to do some prompting themselves to produce a high quality article.
I would also consider adding image generation to this, since most good blog posts have a few images, and finding the right ones can be a hassle, esp dealing with copyright.
Stable diffusion is a pretty good image generator, and I'm currently working on a stable diffusion API at Evoke.
Also, I have a pretty popular AI discord, so feel free to ask the people there if it's a good idea or not.
In terms of content, it would be similar to other platforms if any that rely on GPT-3 for generating content.
It can produce entire content that is SEO optimized. For example, it can suggest titles, meta descriptions, SEO keywords, etc. Converting users' needs and expectations into appropriate prompt are certainly something that the platform should do. Yeah, I was thinking image generation as one of the evolution path. I'll checkout Evoke.

With so many AI based writers (Jasper, Rytr) etc. Along with platforms like HubSpot. The automated part of it can be ignored. I guess these things still need a lot of manual input.
I actually agree. But I wonder whether it can save author/editor 50% of their time and the company not having to allocate resources for publishing / distributing content and still have world-class distribution.
I really think this lives and dies with the quality of the output. I saw something similar a while back, however it was just for LinkedIn posts with captions and the output was ok but not great. It would be amazing if it works well because we all know the pains of blogging or worse, not blogging and the frustration that comes with not being able to get traction!
Also, I think it would need quite a bit of variability because 50 people sharing the same post wouldn't look great for a business if it was noticed...

The problem statement definitely resonates with me. Building good content to attract new customers is very time-consuming, but can have good returns. If there was a way to do this easier, I think you would have many customers.
My feedback would be around the solution. I think there are going to be lots of ChatGPT solutions to this problem (many are already heavily funded). What will be the differentiation?
High performing content will either be hyper-specific to a target audience that the company wants to reach or a way to share company specific learnings. ChatGPT will by default create more generic content, rather than highly personalized content. If your solution could help close that gap, then I think it has a good chance at being a winner.

You are also correct about the differentiation. Right after I thought about this problem and solution, I came across at least two companies that offer similar solutions (one funded by YC and a few VCs). The one differentiation was that most of them do not publish content for their customers.
Something that immediately pops out to me as a potential concern is the AI blog generation. Google is generally against automatically generated content (check out the Helpful Content update back around August), so by adding this into your product you could actually be diminishing it's SEO value.

Actually, AI generated content is fine for Google. They just don't like low quality content. If people vet their AI content and make alterations, it's more than fine.
