Pls Roast my landing page!

https://www.scrollme.today

Finally, I launched a landing page for my startup 🥳 🥳
But yes, I built a waitlist of 400 without it 🔥 🔥

Now I need honest feedback and roasting.

    Quick thoughts:

    Good:

    • The hero gif is great
    • The overall design is attractive

    Bad:

    • The page has really weird loading behavior. Fonts/colors/styles coming in asynchronously made it jump around for 1-2s before settling down.
    • The product is called "scroll me" but the scrolling is a little janky on my machine (which I will admit is not a fast computer)
    • The CTA for "join the waitlist" should be much more prominent than "enter your referral code" since those are the users you need to capture here.

    Other:

    • Some additional work on the copywriting on this page could go a long way. I can't tell if the use of "World Wide Web" is ironic or out of touch! If you had a more consistent tone/voice, I'd feel better about the product.

In the over the fold view, it's difficult to focus to read your main pitch, when there is that video auto-playing at the bottom of my view. And that video moves at a speed of someone using stimulants.

The main CTA is confusing. It's asking for my referral code to "create now". I don't have any referral code, nor do I know what that means. I need someone's referral before using your service?

The computer generated image of t-shirt and other products with your QR code looks awkward. It's hard for me to imagine anyone unironically wearing such shirt.

The mobile phone and the laptop in the "You need to be everywhere" area look like kids toys and make me wonder is this a service aimed at children. It doesn't read like one, but it is starting to look like one.

The "How to get started?" section is very confusing. It's saying I can create an account, but the CTA is again asking for some referral code, which is not explained anywhere in the website.

There are no incentives to join the waiting list. People want things now, not some time in the future. If you want people to wait, you should offer them a reason to do so. Also, some indication how long the wait is going to be would be nice.

There is also no information anywhere is this thing going to be free. You are literally asking people to wait for you to finish up your product, but without even saying how much is this?

In the "how to get started" section, you say that this thing will automatically fetch content from my social media. But you don't specify exactly which social media platforms are supported. You only mention a few as an example.

In a service like this, a live demo would show exactly what your thing can do. I had to go all the way to the footer to find the actual demo link. After seeing the live demo, I think I kind of like this. Being able to search and/or filter the content would seem like a feature I would like to use. Also, I don't think I love that background image of the page. It just makes everything look visually too busy.

This seems like an interesting idea. I hope you polish this into something amazing and that this thing catches on!

Cool idea overall, Deepak. In addition to some of the other comments, a few things you might want to re-think:

    • The Video, yes, moves really too fast. It also has way too many flashing colors. That super quick motion and color flashing can be off-putting to some, and even triggering to others, inducing nausea or even seizures. This is the thing that I think needs the most attention.

    • Perhaps the Join Waitlist / Enter Referral Code button should be a "Get Started!" button that opens a modal. In that modal, you can ask for a referral code and if they don't have one, offer to join the waitlist.

    • I'm not a fan of the CSS animation on the buttons. Changing the border radius to square feels hokey, and it's way too slow, especially next to that video.

    • Something about the typography feels a bit off, a bit amateurish. I think the Montserrat typeface you're using works fine for the headings (it's very nice with the occasional hand-written words), but consider a different font for the body copy. Something contrasting or complimentary. I think Montserrat is too wide to look good at body copy sizes.

    • Nitpicky, but in the image of the phone and the laptop, both of them look way too chunky to feel fresh and modern, especially the phone. They look like LEGO versions of an iPhone and MacBook.

    1. The website is too "large". It's not long in terms of the amount of content, but rather the graphics and images take up so much space that I have to scroll a bunch to see more content.

In this case, I would focus on putting more content in a smaller area.

    1. Show how the product works earlier on. In the header, you should have a screenshot of your product to show what it looks like and does. The benefits should come later.

I always see products like this but I actually have to sign up to actually see what it looks like. Reduce friction by showing an image of what it looks like first.

    1. The first 3 points "scattered, link in bio, share" should be in one section side by side. The images on the right are unnecessary and no one will focus too much on them anyways.

Followed you on twitter since I think this is really interesting! FYI, I'm building Evoke: AI hosted on the cloud for devs making AI apps so they don't have to manage cloud infra themselves.
