Podcast Hosting

Greetings IH,

Does anyone know of any open source podcast hosting platforms? I know you can use archive.org to host a free podcast. Does anyone have other solutions?

I also saw one of our IndieHackers (@JeffMeyerson) created Podsheets (https://github.com/crablar/podsheets) but it looks like the site is down. The repo is up and I actually tried to build/start the web app on my local environment, but wasn't able to. Has anyone successfully deployed a Podsheets app? Does anyone know why it shut down?

You can theoretically use any hosting provider like archive.org, AWS or even Dropbox, but none of these are really optimized for podcasting.

Also, the open source part would almost never apply to storage obviously.

You can check Podcast Generator (http://www.podcastgenerator.net/) as an open source tool to generate valid RSS feeds but you'll need to host them somewhere.

WordPress is also open source and can host feeds and audio files as well.

But as said above, if you don't have a solution that is optimized for hosting podcasts, it would get quite difficult to sustain once you have many episodes/listeners.
