Podcasts & Audiobooks - A platform designed for audio content

Hey everyone!

Audio content creation and consumption has been on the rise for a couple of years now. Podcasts, Audiobooks and increasingly audio newsletters, there is a lot of great audio content produced each day.

However, finding something unique, worth listening and relevant for you can be a daunting challenge.
The trending charts and the top 100 podcasts are great but they still only scratch the surface of the richness in content that exists already in the audio world.

I've been building a new product to make audio content discovery and listening easy.
Speakhub is a web-app which personalizes your listening experience.

From curated lists, personalized recommendation, simple structured browsing and playlists: the goal at speakhub is to make audio content discovery fun and easy so you spend less time searching and more time listening.

Landing page at https://speakhub.io
App at https://app.speakhub.io/ (No signup needed!)

Demo at https://speakhub.io#demo

If you listen to podcasts and audiobooks and want to explore further, speakhub will help you organize your listening and discover new content.

If you have been thinking about giving audiobooks or podcasts a try but always were overwhelmed on where to start, speakhub will give you a easy way to start and discover content that you would like.

Happy for all your thoughts and feedback!

Cheers from Berlin,
Ashish

    Hey,

    I'm interesed in your project.

What I'd like to understand is how this is different than many podcast players that make suggestions to the listener?

    1. 1

Hey. Thanks for your interest. The difference is that at speakhub, we want to give more visibility to the niche creators who talk about specific topics.
We have seen that the big podcast players tend to focus on the top 100 lists which do not cover the needs of a large number of listeners.
At speakhub, we are also bridging the gap between the listener and the podcast host by creating a way for hosts to reach out the listener and for listener to give their feedback, suggestions or ask for more information from the host.
Details on this is at https://speakhub.io/creators

Hmm, but when I open the site, I see recommendations for some of the biggest podcasts out there. Stuff I would see on any podcast app. Like The Daily.

Personally, I don't that the sites messaging matches what you're saying in this reply.

First line is personalise your listening experience. Not find niche podcasts.

In fact nothing on the home page really makes that claim.

It's more focus on how the app works.

I do like the idea of giving people ways to feedback on podcasts. Does the podcast need to list with your directory? Or are pulling podcasts from an existing directory?

        1. 1

As for the feedback: Yes the podcasts should list with speakhub. Once listed, they would get tools to request & manage feedback from listeners.

Valid point that the landing page shows some of the most popular ones. I did that to showcase that there are also the usual ones a listener would want. But I took your feedback now and updated the landing page to the 'recommendation' page which actually is more closer to what the purpose of the app is

Would love to go deeper on this. I have lots of feedback but I would also like to learn more about podcast directories. My email is andy@getpoise.co.uk.

            1. 1

Sure. I'll send you an email. I also looked at getpoise.co.uk
              Looks quite interesting

I updated the app to now have parts of the app open so that users can have a look without signing up.
The page https://app.speakhub.io can now be accessed without signing in!
Hope this helps some of you explore the app.
    Thanks
