Hi, I’m a co-founder of Polka. You can think of Polka as Google Docs of meeting recordings.
I am reaching out to ask you for your opinion. Our team has identified that Polka would be most useful for Product Owners in mid-sized companies. Could you let me know if you support this thesis?
What is Polka?
Polka transforms all of your online meetings into a searchable and shareable format. You get a transcript, action items, video and sectioning per speaker. Team can collaborate on it further in Slack or email.
Why Product people?
We feel that Product people no longer need to sit in meetings where Product requirements are a small part. You could receive a few-minute snippet and continue discussion eg. on Slack.
I would really appreciate it if you could say if that makes sense and test Polka.
You can register & try Polka @ https://meetpolka.com/
I would really appreciate a feedback from you, if possible on the Zoom call.
Thanks a lot,
Tomek
Does it only work for Zoom? We're on Google Meet - and how much does it cost?
Google Meet is on the way soon. We're working on that. As of now product is free and it most likely remain free with limited options. Paid version will include unlimited storage & numbers of Polka's joining the meeting.
Thanks a lot! Your insights are super valuable and to the point. The use case for different time zones meetings is incredible and to be honest and we haven't thought about it yet - so many thanks for that. There is probably nothing to discuss more, we will simply get down to work and incorporate your ideas. We are community based mindset founders ;-)
Thanks a lot and will keep you updated on the progress.
Any more thoughts besides the landing page? Maybe you can give it a try and use Polka for you online meetings and share your further thoughts?
Best,
Tomek
Hey @karmowski , congrats on the launch! Looks like a pretty cool product.
Landing page feedback:
-I'm assuming the beta is free right now? That doesn't come across in the landing page which could deter users from signing up. Maybe worth tweaking your CTA to "Get started for free"
-In the hero section, the little subtext "work on your meeting recordings like an online document" probably could be removed - feels repetitive.
-On CTAs - you have 7 CTAs on your landing page that all do the same thing and say the same thing. Personally I'd get rid of all 3 CTAs in the middle section - they sort of distract from the story you're trying to tell. If you are going to have multiple CTAs that do the same thing --> drive users to sign up, I'd play with the wording a bit - see if you can't present the same CTA in a different way that might strike a cord with your target audience. You could have "Get started for free" as your main CTA and then towards the end in one of the banners you have "Join the beta"
-I always look for 4 elements in a good SaaS landing page, WHO is this product for, WHAT is the product and the problem it solves, WHY should I use it, HOW do I use the product to get the advertised benefits. I think you've nailed the WHAT and HOW, but you're sort of missing the WHO and WHY. I'd challenge you to try to capture the WHY a bit better, WHY do we need to work on our zoom call recordings like a google doc? What value does that bring me the new user.
In the sign up form:
-default the "I would like to be informed about updates" to checked. Remember users are lazy, in the US in order to become an organ donor you have to opt-in, thus the % of organ donors is low. In parts of EU, you have to opt out...the default is to opt in. EU's organ donors are WAY higher than the US with just the simple change.
-I'd also consider delaying the email confirmation step towards later in the onboarding flow. Again, users are lazy, in my experience something like 20-30% of users that sign up and have to confirm an email, don't even do it. Don't give your users extra opportunities to abandon you, you worked so hard to get them to that point!
Random feedback/thoughts:
-It seems like we're moving towards an asynchronous world with Slack/Loom/video conferencing - seems like it might be wise for you to lean into that trend. "Ever miss a 60min zoom call and wish you had all the highlights and action items without having watch a static recording?"
-I see your point "product people" but I also think this is much broader than just product. I think it's beneficial for any remote teams, ESPECIALLY those with team members who span different geographies/time zones. A tool like this keeps everyone on the team in the loop, even on the meetings they don't attend.
