You plan the perfect event. Your guests take hundreds of photos. You see maybe 10 of them — the ones people remembered to WhatsApp you three weeks later.

Poolr fixes this.

How it works:

  • Host creates a pool in seconds on the iOS app

  • A QR code is generated — print it, display it on screen, put it on tables

  • Guests scan it. Their camera opens in the browser. Photo taken → goes straight into the album. No app download. No sign-up. No friction.

  • Host gets every shot from every angle, in real time

Built for: 🎊 Weddings — get every guest's perspective, not just the photographer's ⛪ Churches — baptisms, youth nights, Sunday services, all in one place 🎂 Birthdays & parties — no more chasing people on WhatsApp 🏫 Schools & sports days — parents contribute, the school keeps the album 🏢 Corporate events — team away days, conferences, launches

The guest experience is 100% browser-based — no App Store, no install, no barrier. The host app is iOS.

It is such a letdown when you host a great event but only end up with a few blurry photos because guests find it too annoying to upload them later.

The key to high engagement is removing the "app store" barrier because people are much more likely to share when they can just scan and shoot instantly.

Have you considered adding a live slideshow feature so the photos appear on a big screen at the venue as guests take them?

    Hey PH! 👋

I built Poolr to solve a problem I kept running into as an event organiser: you spend months planning something, and the photos are spread across 40 different camera rolls you'll never see.

The core insight was that the guest experience needs to be zero-friction. Every existing solution asks guests to download an app, create an account, or both. Most don't bother. Poolr guests do nothing except scan a QR code — it opens in their browser and they're done in 10 seconds.

The host app handles everything else: QR generation, album management, moderation, branding, the live photo wall, downloads.

A few things I'm particularly proud of:

No guest app — the entire guest flow is Next.js on Vercel, camera access via the browser's MediaDevices API

Live photo wall — photos appear on venue screens in real time (great for weddings and church events)

Host+ Annual — designed specifically for recurring-event hosts like churches and schools who run dozens of events a year

Would love to hear what events you'd use this for. Happy to answer anything 👇
