Post Forge V2.0 prep, workflow overhaul, and early onboarding automation work
— and today finally brought some bigger movement.
Starting the transition to Post Forge V2.0
After several days of incremental improvements, today I began the shift toward what I’m calling Post Forge V2.0.
No implementation details to share yet, but the focus of V2 is:
clearer structure throughout the writing flow
more predictable tone
better topic alignment
improved SEO signals baked earlier in the process
a more flexible approach to handling different niches
The V1 foundation has held up surprisingly well, but the improvement ideas have been piling up.
It’s time for a more intentional rebuild instead of small patches.
Early work on automating onboarding
Another thing I started exploring today:
automating the onboarding process.
Right now I’m doing some steps manually — mostly collecting the initial variables and settings for each site. It works, but it doesn’t scale nicely and doesn’t feel smooth.
The goal for the onboarding automation is:
cleaner setup for new users
fewer manual touches
better data consistency
faster rollout
a more polished experience overall
Still early, still messy, and nowhere near where I want it — but it’s officially on the table.
Interesting insight from today
Even though V2 means rebuilding parts of the system, every improvement I made over the last few weeks made this upgrade much easier.
It’s true what people say:
Build the smallest version you can… then grow only what proves it deserves to exist.
V1 proved enough.
Now it’s V2’s turn.
What I learned today
Sometimes the best upgrade path is rebuilding with everything you now know
Onboarding feels small, but it impacts everything
Momentum comes from small wins, but breakthroughs come from stepping back
More tomorrow — this part of the experiment should get interesting.
