Post PH launch stats

Hi there!

Last Sunday we launched on ProductHunt and made it to #4 during the day, and #3 afterwards.

My expectation was getting a couple dozen new users and some feedback.

Results:

• We got almost 300 new weekly active users (+600% increase from 50)
• About 2k visits to our site
• A handful of comments and emails

Planning:
The launch wasn't planned much beforehand. We decided it was time because the product has all the basic characteristics that we want it to have. It's not MVP, we've been working on it for a few months and changed its functions and look a bunch of times.

What I did for the launch:

• I posted on IH
• I sent a tweet from my account (almost 3000 followers) and from @ deprocratinate (500+ followers) account
• I retweeted both of tweets about 3 times thrughout the day
• I responded to PH, IH comments and emails
• My co-founder messaged/emailed a bunch of people to get some extra upvotes

Main takeaways:

• having an audience beforehand is key
• post a few minutes after SF midnight

Now I'm collecting feedback, fixing design leaks (analyzing the use of our features), and designing new unique features.
