Post your business idea, I'll tell you how to build it in no code 💡

Post your business idea and I'll reply with the no code tools you can use to build it without any code!

I did a similar post back in June with lots of questions - so wanted to offer it again.

I'll be responding to every idea through tomorrow at midnight.

I'm the founder of https://nocode.mba and spend a huge amount of time in the no code world. I should have a good idea of where to get started for most business ideas!

If you're looking for some business idea inspiration, you can check out https://www.nocode.mba/articles/11-business-ideas-you-can-build-without-code-today for 11 ideas of profitable no code projects.

I posted asking for how you would build a job board, and then realised it's in the blog post that you linked :) apologies

    1. 1

All good! :) Here's a tutorial for anyone interested built in Webflow https://www.nocode.mba/courses/build-a-job-board-in-webflow

  2. 2

Hey, I would need to build a tool, which would be like dropbox folder where me and my colleagues would share their text files and the files would be locked (impossible to open, read or edit) until given time.

Do you know about anything like that or way how to build in in no-code?
    Thanks!! ✨

    Hey @sethk 👋

Thanks for sharing your advice here 🙂

Not sure if you’ve come across a process to make a online pub quiz players can generate with a unique game link and join?

Being able to enter a private room with friends and each individually answer a quiz question with a timer would be great 🎲

    Ziago.co is the inspiration.

So far only seen Bubble been able to generate unique game links like this. Any other tutorials in no-code?

    Thanks!

    1. 2

Would definitely look into Glide for this! Here's a $5 template that may be useful: https://www.glideapps.com/templates/89Jg9DnHyGaCRGBGtpyP-template

  4. 2

    @sethk great initiative!

How would you build a "group buying" platform?

This would be a website where you aggregate demand for a specific product that is not available in your country, and/or it allows you to place large orders directly from the manufacturer because you order as a group. The site would need to be able to showcase a new product (every week or so), allow people to sign-up for a purchase, show graphically how many people already want to buy + target amount needed to do the order, and then payment acceptance.

The whole buying process and distribution would probably be done manually.

    1. 3

I'd use Bubble for this since it allows you to build out full web apps.

  5. 2

Best solution for a paid membership Netflix clone? My guess is Webflow+Memberstack, by looking at some other answers?

The pricing of Memberstack has put me off in the past but it seems like it might be the most elegant solution.

    1. 1

I mean, maybe my question should be, how did you build nocode.mba because that's pretty close, right? :)

      1. 1

        Yup, Webflow + Memberstack!

        That's exactly what I used to build nocode.mba :)

        Here's the basics: https://www.nocode.mba/courses/build-a-paid-membership-site-in-webflow-and-memberstack

  6. 2

A way to rank Gumroad courses. Like hackernews for Gumroad courses. I have already created it but want to know ways I can incorporate authentication into a nocode app and also business development apart from affiliate links which I am currently using

    1. 1

Yes you definitely can do this!

I'd use Webflow + Memberstack for authentication.

Here's a course on a product hunt clone that may be helpful: https://www.nocode.mba/courses/clone-product-hunt-in-webflow

  7. 2

    Okay, I go first.

A virtual speed dating platform. Basically, I want to create something like this for my country (city). It would work like this: They all join a "room" and then I match them 1-by-1 for 3-5 minute conversations. Then repeat for the next people etc. Be aware that some of these people won't have PCs and will use the platfrom from their mobile.

    1. 1

Hmm. A few questions! Would you be manually matching them? Would the conversations be phone calls?

  8. 1

How would you build a Reddit or Indie Hackers clone with threaded/nested comments using no-code? I have tried with Bubble but it seems impossible. Forum software also doesn't seem to work as I need to be able to have about 1k plus communities

  9. 1

Hi Seth, I'd like to build a really simple website for our local community. Everyone has to be able to sign in using just their email address (which I have) and I redirect them to version A (for user type A) or version B (for user type B) of a landing page. I want to assign each user (e-mail address) their 'user type'. How would you build it?

  10. 1

    Hi Seth,
Two ideas I'd like to build:

    1. A clickfunnels/onepager for myself (that I can use to generate my own funnels/landing pages, one pagers to point traffic to for sales conversions).
    2. An all in one self publishing tool that allows users (writers) to create their own novels/e-books and publish them to various online publishing channels in different formats. It would have to operate as a word processor/editor (or tie in their existing one), e-book formatter, basic cover designer, marketplace for hiring related book building freelancers, and publishing tool. I'd also like to incorporate a simple author's blog/website development tool that can publish written work to an author's unique platform domain, social media channels, or custom domain. A private community built in for discussions would be nice as well. Basically looking to create a tool that someone can use from start to finish and beyond when it comes to writing/editing/publishing and marketing books online.
      Thanks!
  11. 1

I want to build a polling website an alternative to strawpoll.

  12. 1

    How to clone indie hacke?😜

  13. 1

Hello, I am looking to build a local B2C online marketplace to help out local businesses. This would help customers link with businesses, and where the businesses would be a subscription to be listed.

    Thanks,

    Nathan

  14. 1

Thanks for offering this advice! What about a site like Pandora, but in searchable database form? So let's say you have a song with various attributes (four on the floor beats, chill vibes, inspiring lyrics, etc.). Then you fill out your own table with filters like genre, release date, male/female artists, etc. and it spits back a list of songs ordered by most matching percent to least match percent? Does that make sense?

  15. 1

I’d like to build a very similar version of the site havenly.com except I’d be selling different products.

  16. 1

Bathroom and Kitchen remodel service that allows the user to scroll through various options (different vanities, faucets, tile, etc) and have the bathroom cost update based on the choice. Then have that information populate a database for the construction company to make the material purchase and a project management system gets populated with the new job. The construction company can log in to update the job progress and each client can log in to see their respective project's progress

    1. 1

I'd use Typeform to collect the information and population an Airtable with the information (the cost can be calculated in Typeform and shown the customer at the end of the survey).

Then I'd use Webflow and Memberstack to log in and see progress. Here's a helpful link for that: https://www.memberstack.io/dashboard-tutorial

  17. 1

A SaaS client management suite with invoicing, contracts, and CRM with automation components (automated follow up, etc).

Would love to hear your thoughts!

    1. 1

I'd use Bubble! Here's an example of an invoicing app built in Bubble: https://bubble.io/blog/bubble-app-incomee/

  18. 1

    Anonymous shopping online?

    1. 1

Can you elaborate on what you mean by anonymous?

      1. 1

Hi Seth, yeah sure - I think in the ideal scenario a shopper and seller's identities and transaction details are obfuscated but the seller is still able to send the product to an address the buyer provides.
Thanks for your input!! this is a great idea you have going so great work!

  19. 1

What would you use to start a dating site?

    1. 2

I'd use Glide for an app! Here's a tutorial: https://www.nocode.mba/courses/tinder

You could also use Bubble for a dating website.

  20. 1

Thanks Seth. I would like to create an app as a platform for people to exchange / barter unwanted goods and services. Also I would like to create a mini brokerage software which auto invests on ur behalf every set period.

    1. 2

For the exchange platform here's a link to a tutorial for a Craigslist-like app! https://www.nocode.mba/courses/build-a-marketplace-like-craigslist-in-glide

I'm not sure how to do the brokerage service unfortunately

  21. 1

Hi Seth, thanks for doing this. I have an idea for a b2b incoming phone call handling solution. If a customer gets put on hold, they get a text asking if your inquiry can be handled online, be it appt scheduling, getting info etc etc..ty

    1. 1

Hmm. I like the idea! I'm not sure how you'd be able to build out the call center aspect without code unfortunately, maybe someone else does though who is reading through

  22. 1

    Make my own chatbot software

    1. 1

Do you want an automated chatbot for your own site, or you'd like a full chatbot service that others can use?

      1. 1

A full chatbot services that others can use.

  23. 1

Hi. How do I create an app and website for Pickup and drop off laundry service?

    1. 1

I'd use Glide for this! Here's a template that may be helpful: https://www.glideapps.com/templates/zEXs0S16w2KVZmZ4kx7b-template

  24. 1

A website that promotes promotes and collaborates with small businesses.

    1. 2

Hard to say 100% without more detail, but Webflow should work well here and you can have pages for each business using your CMS

  25. 1

Seth I'd love some advice but can we sign NDA how am I protected? 🙏👍

    1. 3

Sorry, no NDA :) I'd highly recommend talking about your business ideas in public, it's super unlikely anyone will steal your idea and you'll learn so much from other people.

  26. 1

A service for polling all company employees and subsequent analysis of answers, something like an analysis of corporate culture from the bottom up.
It is desirable that you can then see the results on a map of the company structure.

    1. 1

Not 100% sure without more details, but I would look into Bubble for this!

  27. 1

    Ok, challenge accepted! :)
What about a photo editing App for mobiles?

    1. 2

I'm not sure if any of the no code app builders have that feature yet!

  28. 1

    Hello Seth,

A website of candidates (jobs) who apply on video.

    1. 1

You could definitely build a job board on Webflow and then use a form to have candidates submit a video for an application

  29. 1

Something like Dribbble, with a job board, ability to upload images, add people, comment.

  30. 1

Tik-tok clone? I played around with some bubble templates but couldn't find anything suitable...

    1. 1

Not sure of anything suitable either yet for a Tik Tok clone

  31. 1

    Thank you @sethk

I would love to know your no code stack for building freelance marketplace. (There is no concept of bidding here.)
    High level aims

    • Companies should be able to post their requirements
    • Freelancers should be able to send an application to the marketplace for their skills
-Matchmaking will happen behind the scene
    1. 1

Definitely Webflow! This job board tutorial would get you close to what you need, you'd just need to make some modifications

      https://www.nocode.mba/courses/build-a-job-board-in-webflow

  32. 1

Hi Seth.. I would like to build an online portal for insurance registration that creates a pdf copy of the registration for printing purposes and sends out an SMS alert to the registered user. Thank you

    1. 1

I'd look into Webflow or Bubble for the front end. And once the registartion is finished through a form, use Zapier + PDF Monkey to send the PDF and also use Zapier to send an SMS

      https://zapier.com/apps/pdfmonkey/integrations/typeform/98051/generate-pdf-monkey-pdfs-from-typeform-entries

      1. 1

Thank you @sethk, the feedback is highly appreciated..

  33. 1

A marketplace for independent fashion designers!

    1. 1

Hard to say without more detail, but I'd check out Glide and Bubble

  34. 1

    Hi Seth,

I would like to have an app that would allow the user to use their carmera from the phone or tablet and the AR takes measurements to generate a custom bath rug for their bathroom area. Do you think I can build a profitable business with this idea?

    1. 1

I'm not sure of a no code tool for AR, but in terms of a profitable business, I think it's definitely possible, even if the user enters in their square footage instead of using an AR measurement. Essentially an e-commerce store that sells custom bath rugs!

      1. 1

Thanks for the input. Besides AR, is there any no code tool for the camera from the phone and tablet to act like a ruler or laser distance measure, then sketch, create/markup a design? Or where should I start :-)?

        1. 1

I'm not sure of a no code tool for that unfortunately!

  35. 1

Dating App that matches users based off of TV/Movie/Anime interests exclusively.

Should I start out with Web, PWA, or Mobile first for MVP? I'm flexible in everything.

    1. 2

I'd say a PWA in Glide! I have a tutorial for a dating app in Glide which may be helpful https://www.nocode.mba/courses/tinder

  36. 1

What would be a nice way to build a complicated AR app like Pokémon Go or a VR app with no-code?

Disclaimer: Trying to see if I should build a solution to something like this

    1. 1

I'm not very familiar with AR/VR in no code, but this looks promising: https://brandxr.io/

  37. 1

Very cool. Thanks for the offer, Seth. I'm curious how you would approach these two ideas.

    1. A multi-part questionnaire that 1) asks about 10 questions and has a logic tree of follow-up questions based on previous answers, 2) does some calculations, 3) creates a PDF with data and variables inserted based on the answers, 4) mails PDF to respondent, 5) stores answers on a page that is included as a link in the PDF for sharing. (I'm inclined to use Webflow for the front-end, but would welcome other approaches.)

    2. A lead magnet style questionnaire that sends a lead to a randomized group of 3 email addresses from the database.

    1. 2

Hey @billb - I just did some research for 1, as that's something I've also been wanting to do!

I believe connecting Typeform to PDF Monkey will work for steps 1 through 4 (https://zapier.com/apps/pdfmonkey/integrations/typeform/98051/generate-pdf-monkey-pdfs-from-typeform-entries). For storing the answers back on a page, you should be able to use Webflow, but am not 100% sure of the right way to customize that per user. You may be able to to hose the variables as URL parameters and use custom code to display personalized info on the page, but there may be a better way with more research.

For 2, is the scenario that you have a database of emails, and you want to send to 3 random emails of that group? Would this be sent on a schedule?

      1. 1

        Thanks, Seth!

PDF Monkey looks great for #1. 1,000 free PDFs a month is amazing, and it looks like the template builder may be pretty robust. I dealt with PDF creation in code way back when and it was a huge pain. This seems much simpler. Of course Zapier has a Zap ready to go. Cool.

For the variables, I was thinking the app might do a lookup back to the stored database values that were submitted in the Typeform and render them dynamically into a template based on the URL segment (e.g. https://example.com/p/<url-segment>). I may be oversimplifying.

This gives me a great place to get started. I'll let you know if I can string it all together.

For #2, that's correct about the database. Let's say you had a list of vendors in a certain field (like dentists or something). You're collecting a list of potential customers that are looking for root canals and want to share them fairly with the list of dentist clients. But, you want to be sure the potential customer has options and gets a fast response. So, you share with 3 dentists so they are motivated to respond quickly and provide good information. And since it is random, it seems like they would be even more motivated to know they're not in the running for every potential customer.

Weird idea, but I'm curious how one would do it if one happened to meet a bunch of dentists.

        1. 2

Awesome! Would love to hear back if the PDF automation works.

Hmm. For the email problem in your example, I might try keeping the list of dentists in a google sheet and use a formula in Google Sheets to pull up 3 random dentists every time you run a Zap in Zapier. That zap would also email those 3 dentists. I think that would work - there may be other ways as well to accomplish it!

          1. 1

Thanks for this question @billb - have also been looking for something similar to a Buzzfeed personality quiz with a logic tree.

@sethk seems like Typeform seems to be the most recommend here as well.

            1. 1

Yes, Typeform is a great option.

You could also check out involve.me

            2. 1

              Ah, that's an interesting idea.

              Something like this? https://www.buzzfeed.com/sarahaspler/street-food-personality-type-quiz

I've never filled out these tests, but I like the visual approach and the quick way to add a response.

  38. 1

I need to develop a system that displays the specific results of a Google AdWords campaign on a dashboard and allows users to purchase additional packages.

    1. 1

Hmm. what kind of packages would someone be purchasing?

  39. 1

Ha, interesting! Thank you for sharing the knowledge.

Reward as a Service: Set a goal, a deadline, and pay. Proof with photos/screenshots that you've completed your goal and you'll get your money back as reward.

    How would you execute it?

    1. 3

I'd check out Bubble - you could definitely create a system just like this and also automate the payment back with the Stripe API as a reward if you approve the photo that the task was complete.

      1. 1

Thanks @sethk! I've never tried Bubble though, do you think it would be a better option than Squarespace or Wordpress?

        1. 2

I was thinking Bubble to automate the payments, but it's definitely not necessary to start!

Now that i think about it, the best way to start may be a Typeform form on squarespace, collect the payment, and you can manually track everyone's contract and pay back people manually if they complete their goal.

          1. 1

You nailed it now, that's exactly how I was planning to do it. Nice to have it confirmed by you! Thanks.

            1. 2

              Awesome, no prob!

    2. 2

I’m curious to know what you’re building here! Do you have a website/app yet which I can check out? Sounds super interesting to me

      1. 1

I'm working on an MVP now, it should be ready withing a few days. There a waiting list of people interested on it, you can join it here.

        1. 2

          Subscribed! All the best! :)

    3. 2

Reward as a Service sounds cool. Do you have any more information to share about the idea, or is it still forming?

If enough people started using it, I would be curious whether you could get partners or sponsors to provide extra incentives for success.

This seems like the type of thing that crypto smart contracts would handle really well, but not sure how you would put it all together. 🤷

      1. 2

I'm working on an MVP right now(there's a waiting list of interested people).

I like the idea of the sponsors, others have already pointed it out. Perhaps in the future. But I hadn't considered the idea of crypto small contracts, I'll keep that in mind. Thank you.

        1. 2

Awesome. Good luck on the MVP!

  40. 1

    I am next then.

A platform which performs financial valuation, so basically I need people to answer some qualitative questions and quantitative answers. Some qualitative answers represent a certain number and then affect my formula. In a nutshell, I can do the calculations and formulas in excel. The end product is then a report which states the valuation and financial analysis of the figures and should include charts and tables as well as some write up that is static (i.e. doesnt change).

I am already building it, but would have liked to know how I could have done this with a no code tool, since I looked and couldn't find previously.

    1. 2

Hey @TDajani - did you look into Glide? It lets you build apps with a google sheet as the backend, so I wonder if you could do your calculations in the google sheet in the backend based on data users enter into the app.

      1. 1

I did not. Will check it out right now. Thanks.

          1. 1

Thanks for that. Appreciate the help

      Cool idea!

Webflow is perfect for this. You can create a great looking site with a full CMS, and edit it per school if needed, or potentially clone it and edit so each school has it's own site.

      1. 1

Appreciate that! Thanks for the response.

        1. 1

No problem! If you haven't used Webflow before, these courses may be helpful - especially the blog & curation site courses https://www.nocode.mba/tools/webflow
