Post your landing page and let others describe what your company does!

Does your landing page describe your project well?

  1. Visit someone else's landing page for 10 seconds, then come back and tell them what you think their product does.
  2. Link to your own landing page, but don't say anything about it.
    1. 1

It's an email verification service. I'm a bit unsure about what would make me try this one out over others, though - is it price, or some novel approach, or what? Like, if I have a shortlist of email verification services to try, what would make me try this one first?

      1. 1

Initially, I was planning to compete over the price. Using price as a major factor to try out Prospectss over other platforms. But have moved on from that to Quality/Accuracy. Have spent last month, perfecting the outcome of the product and not just making it par with the competitors but instead making it superior to them and still make it affordable.
Although, I have not currently advertised it on the landing page. We will be writing a practical blog post soon on how Prospectss gives better results than hunter.io or others.

Currently enhancing the Search email by Domain feature, once that is done, new landing page with more details on why choose Prospectss over other products.

    2. 1

Email verification, but I'm not sure at first if it's for developers (i.e. check spam) or sales (which your domain name implies).

      1. 1

It's for sales. API is there on our roadmap so we can serve developers too.

    1. 2

Nice idea. Relevant to the times and I “got” what it was in 10 sec.

So, an extension that checks/reports the internet strength of a location.

    2. 2

BRILLIANT idea. No explanation needed. Put my name down on the waitlist, hoping to be able to use it soon to plan a trip to LA

    3. 2

check the internet connection at a rental before you go. BRILLIANT. Bookmarked the site, will be using.

    1. 2

It seems like a platform to assist the development of chrome based extensions. Great work on the website, @rfitz. I loved the color scheme you have established on the website. The purple color is quite similar to my own product, ruttl.com.

      1. 1

That's exactly it and thank you! The Ruttl landing page looks extremely clear as well, I could tell what the purpose was right away and the explainer video was awesome.

        1. 1

Thanks a lot for your feedback too! It helps me improve the product further!

    2. 2

Super cool! It's a starter kit for making chrome extensions with examples/boilerplates and resources. Bookmarked for later I've had a few extension ideas.

(not if its included, or if it's within scope, but one thing that repeatedly held me back from extension making was not knowing whats possible and whats allowed by extensions. Can Chrome extensions read OS files, access other tabs, auto-open, make API requests, access local storage, use 3rd party payment providers, etc? Not sure if it's something other people think about but I'd find that to be a helpful addition)

      1. 1

Thank you! That's a really awesome idea. I have a similar item in the backlog to add a section on extension "blueprints". I often get "how could I make X with a Chrome Extension?" or "Is Y even possible?", so I want to build a section that lists a ton of examples and how you'd build it with built-in Chrome APIs, etc.

    3. 2

Wow this is cool. Sometime back I saw someone asking for a nocode Chrome extension maker. I know this isn't nocode but still saves a lot of time. Good work.

      1. 1

Thank you, that's definitely the goal!

    4. 1

      LANDING PAGE:
Great design of the website and it has a personal touch with your picture at the bottom adds a bit of credibility.
I kind of feel you could include more images of the themes or products made.

    5. 1

learn how to create chrome extensions using templates

    1. 1

I was. confused with multiple messages. is it to 'create your first team', or 'create lists' . Took a while to capture both.

    1. 2

Great use of social proof for a social proof product 😁

Concepts looks neat. It took me a bit of reading to understand what a Twitter shoutout was but got it from the rest of the page. Wondering if switching first and second taglines could help: "Leverage your Twitter social proof" -> "Give a permanent home..."

Really cool stuff and super relevant to today's use of Twitter.

      1. 1

Sten, thanks for checking out Shoutout. We are working on the copy as well as onboarding stuff. So yes, I took note of what you said!

    1. 1

It looks like a resource for information that only a local would provide, e.g., where's the best coffee, how to get a bus ticket, etc.

    2. 1

I understand that it's about knowledge and community, but can't tell exactly what the core problem is. "Find perfect resource in any area" is quite broad, so is it like Wikipedia? Would love to see more the specific value compared to existing tools.

    1. 2

An email marketing service, I'm not sure what makes it special/different though.

      1. 1

Yes, it's an email marketing service for SASS. You can create email campaigns based on your users' activities.

    2. 1

      LANDING PAGE:
Yeah I get that it's an email marketing tool but the website it's the copy is kind of confusing I think you should find easier ways to show the advantages or the pain that you are solving.
It took a lot of effort for me to understand exactly what the tool does.
      IDEA:
If I understand correctly the idea is send personalized email based on user interactions on the website it seems like a great idea to me much like the sms your customers who have their cart with stuff but haven't checked out yet.

    3. 1

Ah yes, I forgot, it is obvious that I can fire off marketing emails but why is it better/cheaper or different than the other services?

      1. 1

We aim email marketing to users, not leads. With undersend, you can create email campaigns based on your users' activities. We have a free tier, so it's affordable for new businesses.

        1. 1

Good stuff, hope you get loads of traction, it might come handy for me as well in the near future!

    4. 1

Hi devhulk, it has a nice, cohesive design/look, fonts are nice, somehow the rest of the page looks better than the logo, maybe it's the font type in the logo... I may put the testimonials a bit further down the page, I mean when I start scrolling from the top I'm first expecting to get more details about what the service is. I quickly checked the responsiveness of the site, on a desktop as you make the browser window smaller there is a state where a duplicated call to action button appears next to or below the logo. Soon I'll be needing to get some flat design illustrations done, can you suggest a platform or a designer? Thanks.

      1. 1

Thanks a lot for your feedback. We get images from https://www.freepik.com/. If it's needed, my co-founder @exdeve edits them a little with Figma.

        1. 1

          Thanks devhulk, great stuff!

    5. 1

Email marketing...but the "make them / make more..." wording was very confusing. Am I "making" people do something? That seems/feels weird.

      1. 1

        Thank you for your feedback.

    6. 1

It seems like a email marketing solution.
      Here are my thoughts -

      1. The animations felt faster
      2. The fonts can be improved
      3. The get started button is too big on the landing page
      1. 1

Yes, it's an email marketing solution for SASS products. Thanks for our feedback. What do you mean by "The fonts can be improved"?

        1. 1

@devhulk Probably testing out different font types such as manrope might help you improve your product. There is nothing wrong with your current font, but I just feel you should try out few other fonts as well.

    1. 1

Pretty straight forward site to understand simple analytics for websites. I love that you have a demo page right upfront for increased trust.
I also suggest you add a yearly plan next to lifetime plan. And the /month text is kind of faded. Overall great landing page. Best of luck with your business. 🎉

    2. 1

very nice. lightweight and simple analytics tool. well done!

      1. 1

wow. Its completely opposite. Drug/medicine-free treatment by playing games.

        1. 1

Oops, now I realize I was wrong. On the other hand, I'm not a native speaker, so maybe I'm the wrong person to judge...

          1. 1

Its absolutely fine. I should change the wording so it will be clear for everyone. I m also not native speaker so probably miss something too. Thanks for your feed back.

message/text crafting service. key message and benefits of using it , all in same way and not one main function is highlighted.

When I saw "privacy friendly twitter", my first thought was "privacy from whom?" I think it was more clear down below when you said it was twitter without ads.

Next on my mind was--how is this different than browsing twitter with adblockers? I think because you're selling a product with a long term, rather than a short term ROI, you'd need to really address all the different objections someone might have, from "I have this alternative" to "why does this matter?" You'd need to educate them, and sometimes, all before they hit your landing page.

      1. 1

        Thanks for the good feedback!
Yes. Agreed that I need to work on the copy a lot and “sell” the privacy part of Decent.
The first step towards this was the FAQ section, 100% agreed I need to address all counter-arguments someone might have.
        Thanks again

Curated list of remote job roles. The website is very straight to the point and professional, nice job.

Free content discovery, organized by topics. I thought it'd be general books at first, but then clicked on some of the links to see the content behind it.

      1. 1

Thank You for visiting it. Yes there are different types of resources available like guides, templates, checklists and more.

    1. 2

I'm not sure what it does. I see the blue text about sharing but it's a bit hard to understand what exactly I should be doing.

Tool to publish notion pages online. Nice idea, don't you think that notion could implement that feature? What would you do then?

      1. 1

You got it! Re whether Notion could implement it — that's a good Q! I suppose that is a real possibility down the line but they'll need to shift focus from their efforts on improving their apps (web/Android/iOS). That being said, Pageably augments things and has the flexibility of skinning your Notion page in a completely different design as well as adding a Stripe checkout, so there might be more to it than simply Notion-to-website. Stay tuned! 😊

get emails about when someone is talking about a problem you're solving on social media or around the web

    1. 2

seems like maybe a bot that helps get people acquainted with each other when working remotely

    2. 1

A slack bot to help improve remote team culture.

      ---
I like the overall website design, but it tool me way to long to understand that this is a slack bot. In my view, you need to make the user understand this in just a few seconds. Add a large Slack Icon to the headline. Or even write "slack bot" in the headline it self.

From the product perspective: I don't understand your screenshots of the bot and how those will improve the remote culture.

      1. 1

Daren's summary seems pretty spot on. A bot that helps people get acquainted with each other when working remotely.

I agree with @SaschaKrause. Putting Slack Bot in the headline will help compel existing Slack users to stick and take the plunge. Non-Slack users will bounce, but they probably weren't going to become customers anyway.

The uses of dictators seems distracting. Maybe stick to movie stars and pop singers, like Leonardo DiCaprio and Taylor Swift.

I like the list of questions on the blog. Would be neat to see a moving ticker on the screen showcasing some of those questions.

Can users submit there own questions if they want?

        Hope this helps!

    1. 1

Pretty straight forward. PR dependency handling. The design is kind of plain but for the market which I believe is big software companies it doesn't really matter that much.

    2. 1

no idea. i'm not in the space, so it read like a foreign language to me.

    3. 1

Helping devs dealing with large pull requests in github.

      ---
that should actually be your headline. You have too much text on the site explaining what it is all about. Your explanation image comes too late. I'd suggest to keep it on point.

      1. 1

        Thanks for the feedback!

    1. 2

Pretty clean to the point. I understood that straight up.
      Newsletter cross marketing.

The idea is great I mean I can see how this is useful for people with newsletters especially for one's who are starting or selling courses or what not on their newsletters ,it's a pretty good product.

      1. 1

Thank you so much. It's good to hear that.

    2. 2

facilitates newsletter cross promotion. bookmarked, will be using. sweet!

Yes, exactly :) Thanks for the bookmark! Really motivating.

    3. 2

      Get your newsletter being sponsored

      1. 1

Actually it's not about paid sponsorships. It's about newsletter creators discovering each other for mutual shoutouts. Do you have an idea how I could clarify this point?

    1. 1

The website took a while to load. But it's a youtube sub management services for users to manage their subscriptions.
The idea for me doesn't seem like that much of problem for me to pay for it though

      1. 1

Try to use it, it is free!

        1. 1

Okay 👌 I'll try and report back!!

    2. 1

It's an extension to manage your YouTube account channel subscriptions.
      Here's my impression -

      1. The website feels too empty. There's too much space without any content.
      2. The illustration or demo video can be better
      3. Probably try using a static header that doesnt get animated every time i scroll.
      4. The get it on google play button is stretched
      5. Fonts could be better
    3. 1

Make it easier to organize YouTube subscription. The value is really clear! Nicely done.

        1. 1

Hey, I checked out the website and I might not be your target demographic, but here is my opinion.

I understand Boostlane is "the Social Platform for Online Shopping." But I am not sure why I would want that. How is it better than Google and existing social media options? What pain points is Boostlane solving?

Adding a use case example could help.

You could also break up services and let uses self select using buttons on a landing page. For example, "I am interested in X" or "I am interested in Y."

Adding some store logos might be good too. Adds credibility and gives the visitor an idea of the stores involved.

Hope this helps. A few tweak could make a big difference.

          1. 1

            Thank you for your feedback.

BOOSTLANE is a social platform for eCommerce that brings together:

-Information about products and services to help people learn more about the products and services available online
-Support services for Sellers, to help them reduce their costs by automating some of their operations
-A marketplace where eCommerce transactions can take place

BL will be better than other social media platforms in the context of supporting trade because it will focus on information and trade.

            Why join BL?

            • You might want to receive regular information about a topic by following pages like this:

            https://boostlane.com/h/startups
            https://boostlane.com/h/marketing
            https://boostlane.com/h/health_benefits
            https://boostlane.com/h/tesla
            https://boostlane.com/h/google

These pages will have original content as well - coming soon.

            • You might want to connect your online store with a platform that helps you reach your target customers... That's BL.

The way information is presented on other platforms is different, and their focus is different. It will be a matter of preference in the end.

There is space for different approaches, the aim is not to replace one particular platform.

This a service that currently manages more than 500 000 items on several platforms including Shopify and Amazon. It helps sellers manage their inventory, which is also available on BL.

            https://boostlane.com/service/inventory/

Everything on BOOSTLANE is designed to support buying and selling; to help people make informed choices, boost their sales or reduce their costs with the help of technology.

I really appreciate the feedback @goodpointdustin.

BOOSTLANE is still under construction so you are only seeing some of the features. There's more... Cheers.

It's a tool to collaborate and discuss a website design. It's possible to use it with live websites and graphics.

      1. 1

That is correct, thank you! Any feedback you have for the website?

        1. 1

The page is really clear, nice work. I wonder how it works with design tools like Figma, sketch, or adobe illustrator.

          1. 1

Currently I am working on making this product useful for post development design review. However, I plan to incorporate tactic design review, with direct integration into tools like Figma and Sketch.

    2. 1

A tool for collecting feedback on designs and live websites.

      1. 1

On point, @GriffinJohnston! Do you have any suggestions for the website?

        1. 1

It's a great site. Good design, clear messaging.

The one thing that jumped out at me is that I'm somewhat confused about the value provided by the "edit site content directly" bit.

If I'm a designer or developer, I would want people to make comments, and then I will make adjustments to address those comments. If, on the other hand, people are commenting and then also fiddling with the site design and content, it would confuse the whole process.

To demonstrate what I mean. Let's say someone doesn't like the alignment of a button. So they comment "I think the button should be centered." Then they actually center the button within ruttl. Now you have a comment talking about an issue that is no longer visible on the page.

Then, once I update the actual site code to fix the problem, would the "edits" people made still override the actual site content within ruttl? Would they have to undo the changes they made to see the actual changes made to the underlying site? No idea what that feature is for. As someone who's been designing and building websites professionally for a lot of years, that honestly sounds like a bit of a nightmare.

    1. 2

Embed my ig posts on my website or anywhere really. Clean, simple and fast. Great job!!

Its a product to help developers integrate their Instagram feed onto the websites.
      Here's what I liked -

      1. The fluidic animation was very nice. It caught my attention quickly and kept me engaged.
      2. Color scheme has been established nicely.
      3. You've made sure every animation is perfect, so great effort to make such a detailed product.

      Here's what I might suggest -

      1. Probably try a lighter tone of the primary color, green in the background?
      2. Add a few more content blocks maybe. I was scrolling through the website, wishing to see more, but the website ended pretty quickly

      Hope this helps!
      Cheers!

      1. 1

Thanks for the suggestions! I agree it needs a bit more content. I'm planning on adding a social-proof section. "Trusted by XY & Z customers." For the color suggestion - do you mean making the background color a bit lighter?

        1. 1

Yes, that's exactly what I was recommending. One tone lighter might go very well with the existing color scheme.

          1. 1

Thanks for the idea - I'll give it a try!

    4. 1

It's a widget with Instagram feed ready to embed on a website.

      1. 1

Not quite actually. That's coming soon, but for the moment it's a tool to help developers work with Instagram feeds directly.

    1. 1

Nice landing page: it's a Web page scraper. I felt that there was a lot of info to digest for a landing page.

    2. 1

It's a chrome extension to build websites scrapers without code.

    3. 1

      A no-code, puppeteer-like, web scraper?

    1. 2

Design critique to add value to saas and feedback. Pretty simple to understand.

    2. 2

Design critique for your SAAS product

    3. 2

Very clear, good idea. The domain is amazing, so I understand why you used it, but it seems totally unrelated to your service. Is there a conceptual connection I'm missing? It's abstract enough that I think I might forget it.

      1. 1

I ran a regular design consultancy and the name stuck. Still testing out the new offering, and if it works well I'll change the name to be more in-line :)

        1. 1

Makes sense! I'll be honest, the first thing I thought of was "Oh, it's Settlers of Catan online," and now I can't get that out of my head.

    4. 2

You do a review of the SASS apps design.

    5. 2

I love this, something I want my designer friends to do but scared I would get destroyed 😂.

You sell a service that gives you valuable feedback on your SAAS product to highlight pain points, do's and dont's and places you can improve on.

I've bookmarked it for future me!

I literally just hopped onto Indiehackers hoping I would find something like this but thought I was too early. But no! I am taking the plunge.

    Here we go: https://queuey.dev

    1. 2

I'm a little confused. What exactly is a "referral queue?" Do you mean a waiting list for an invite-only beta?

      1. 1

Technically this is totally optional, but a user is given a share url which they can use to refer other users, this can “bump” them up a queue

        1. 2

Gotcha makes sense. I might clarify your messaging a bit. "Private Beta waitlists with referrals built-in." Something along those lines.

          1. 1

Thanks for the feedback! Greatly appreciated

    2. 1

It's a form/API to collect emails for the beta.

      1. 2

In my opinion, there is too much about the solution/app on the landing page and not enough about the problem.

        1. 1

          Great feedback thankyou

      2. 1

API is correct, I feel like I must declare that I don’t provide a form, but an API for you to connect with via your own form

    1. 3

A way to find leads and connect people, but I don't get how or what kind of people it is for.

      1. 1

Thank you for the feedback! I have drafted 3 versions: 1) could be for general small to mid sized businesses across a variety of industries 2) partnerships with chambers of commerce for their members 3) partnerships with coworking spaces to connect their members to others 4) specialized within an industry

    2. 2

The website gives more information, but that landing page is poor... Most likely for someone who already knows the business, I suppose.

      1. 1

Correct, the website is for a consulting business and this solution is just being built as a quick MVP under the same domain

    3. 2

Interesting, seems like a platform for making business development easier by searching for businesses that have overlap with your customer base? One quick note - the subtitle of your logo "building together" is way too small. It's also so vague as to be meaningless. I would remove it entirely.

      1. 1

Correct so business A and business B have complimentary but non overlapping markets. Have them either cross sell each other or have A sell to Bs base or B sell to As base and give the other a fair commission. Everyone wants a warm intro, what if you had a warm intro to someone's entire customer base. (that's the theory). Already have a coworking space that agreed to beta test!

Cool idea! Seems like something that could have real potential. Good luck!

Build directory websites using Google Sheets as the data source.

No-code website builder using SpreadSheet data

      2. 1

Perfect. In additional to normal listing/directory, it has functionality like search, filtering, authentication, detailed pages etc as well.

Premium templates for Ghost, clear page!

Unifies multiple 3rd party APIs into one GraphQL API. Cool idea! I worked with a startup maybe ten years ago called Mixpanel that was doing something similar.

Love this! The clean page design helps get the message across in a very clear way. My build would be to mention or show a use-case to help the audience immediately envisage how they would use it, and what value it delivers. A simple way might be to visually mock up the video in a phone and twitter feed versus having the video example by itself - just one idea. Good luck.

      1. 1

Hey thanks for the feedback. We actually have mockups with a social feed on mobile that we're going to use eventually. Right now it's very early stage. :)

    2. 2

Turn text into a video. Very clear!

    3. 2

Nice. Convert an audio clip as a consumable video clip.

    4. 2

generates a video transcript of an audio clip

    5. 2

A bit hard to understand Marcus.
I think it's a tool to animate words for social media?

    6. 2

Generates a video with 'fancy' subtitles from an audio clip

    7. 1

Service that turns audio clips into animated videos designed for social media platforms.

Are you offering this on Fivrr? Bet you would do quite well there.

Favicon didn't load for me, if there is one.

Maybe use an example with English? Could be the default or based on the visitors location or browser language setting. Just an idea.

      Keep up the good work!

    8. 1

Pretty straight forward. Seems like it was made for devs though.
On another note. I'm building something that has sone relationship with this the making videos part. Can I ask you a technical question on how you got the video part to work?

      1. 1

        Made for devs how?

        Sure thing what’s your question?

        1. 1

I meant as in the design still feels like it's in beta.

          1. 1

Ah ok, well it is. :)

The video is using node-canvas and ffmpeg. Is there anything in particular about it you wanted to know?

            1. 1

Yeah! Can I dm you on twitter or something? it's kind of a long technical thing.

              1. 1

Sure. My Twitter is on my IH profile.

Marketing analytics for your landing page. Uses ML to infer engagement. Not sure how engagement is defined or whether it's high/low ROI?

It's a website that helps you find your next book to read, based on recommendations of successful people. I loved your idea @kevinwcyu. It's pretty useful for all the readers out there, finding it difficult to choose what to read next.

Here's what I would recommend you experiment with -

      1. The main search bar seemed a bit too large, probably try reducing the size?
      2. Try establishing a stronger color scheme
      3. Add a few more things to your footer. It feels a bit empty right now

Apart from that, kudos on the idea! Hope my review helps.
      Cheers!

Book recommendations from a list of successful people. Cool idea! I agree that if you search for an author, it should probably return their books as results as well.

      Look for a book recommendation.

Nicely done overall, Kevin. One thing, I tried to look for a person, "elon" and "bill g..", but not what I expected. Is the person "an author"?
