Post your landing page and let others describe what your company does!

Does your landing page describe your project well?

  1. Visit someone else's landing page for 10 seconds, then come back and tell them what you think their product does.
  2. Link to your own landing page, but don't say anything about it.

This looks super useful, I have been in roles were clients and internal staff had multiple terms for the same thing

  1. 2

Really curious, I'm thinking of launching soon and haven't showed anyone yet

      Podcaster's networking platform?

      1. 1

Hopefully in the future, its a bit more minimal than that for now ;)

        1. 1

I am sure you will achieve it. Just keep going :)

          1. 1

Thanks for the positivity bro, wish you all the best with your own endeavors!

    2. 2

A social network and communication platform for people who want to podcast with other podcasters?

    1. 2

Based on my quick guess, customers can go to a business's website, see something they don't like, and type that into an embedded feedback form. Then, that goes into a ticketing system where it can get turned into tasks and acted on by the business, informing the customer when that thing gets fixed.

    2. 2

A tool to collect user feedback, although I'm not familiar with Roadmap or Changelog. So am guessing this is applicable only to people using those tools/software. Can't say the image contributed to my understanding.

    3. 2

My understanding it that it provides feedback and inside on your product? Great idea by the way. A bit confused by Roadmap and inform customers via Changelog.

    4. 1

Its a slick UI. How did you build it? Any online templates you used?

I like the idea - to collect and organize user feedback easily.

      1. 2

Thank you! No online templates, just my own design.

Thank you for feedback! Actually it's UserVoice on steroids :)

I think it might be like color.adobe.com but which also incorporates fonts and other design elements

Place to play board games on your phone. The .app is making me think it's an app, but the "no app installation" is telling me otherwise. Very curious which games I'd be able to play.

      1. 2

Correct 👍. The platform is a web app, so games will be playable in any browser! (Minus IE11 🤓). I will be adding info on the games we currently have (3 total) to the landing page soon (finalizing the game box art), so expect more details in the coming weeks.

    2. 1

Play board games with friends anywhere on your phone. Would love to be able to see the types of games that are available.

      1. 1

Will be adding more details on the games soon! And the games are all original games i have designed myself (not ports of existing board games). Thanks for your input!

        1. 1

Great. I'll be following your progress :)

    3. 1

const places = ['a bus', 'in a restaurant', 'at a park', 'in a loo']
Board games against your friends in places.forEach(item => console.log(item))
      :)
We should team up, i have something simular.
Do you have signed up users?
      When are you launching?

      1. 1

I haven’t opened up my games for signups yet, have just began marketing the games a bit and collecting emails for my upcoming closed beta. I want to do a slow roll-out to make sure my servers can handle the load (they should be fine, i am just paranoid)

Would love to hear about what you working on!

        1. 1

I think it's quite promising what you are doing, you can also talk to the guy behind https://boardom.io/ he does something simular, tell him - Max from playchap.io referred you.

I've initially though about the ifra to support heavy load so plyachap.io could potentially handle about 10k concurrent users for now.

In a nut shell playchap.io is a multiplayer platform with skill-based competitions where the winner takes everyone’s ETH.

Just curious if you have some sort of demo like this - one of the earliest demos i've come up with - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvxMv9tc2lk&t=25s

      testing/quiz e-learning platform

Slightly related, it took me 17 minutes to get figure out one of the IQ test questions :D

      1. 1

I am glad @OscarRyz that you figure it out. Do you have any suggestions on how to make the platform better ?? Any critics at this stage would be very helpful.

        1. 2

Hm. Well at first glance I didn't understand what the site about, I had to click on a few of those quiz to understand (the IQ was the first one)

When you click on it it says: "Bless Test (LMS) is Learning and Teaching platform, build by users for community. Create and resolve course, test or quiz" which I think should be in the landing page... (checks again.. oh yeah, it's already there in the footer below the content). What is LMS btw?

For some reason I was getting anxious of losing my progress when I was taking the quiz, this never happened of course, but after 20 minutes invested in the test and mid progress I was like "omg, omg don't close the tab" Not sure how to address this.

          1. 1

            Thank you for your reply.

LMS = Learning management system. It is not ready yet.

Yes, I understand that fear. Website track questions progress, it remembers it by one month for the guest, and forever for users.

    2. 2

Learn new things online and then get tested on them. It seems to be a very broad set of things to learn. You may want to focus in on something particular. I'd recommend niching.

      1. 2

Thank you @mbrunygroth for that helpful recommendation. And yes the plan is to focus more on school education.

    3. 2

e-learning courses that are accompanied by tests

Something that helps identify the user persona for a given product/site/service. Took me a few seconds to get that far, so didn't get a sense of how it would do it. (Sounds kinda great though)

      1. 2

Thanks @TimWinfree, yeah I've been spending a lot of time with the headline copy to try to make it succinct and clear while not being too wordy. You're totally right on the offering though, just need to figure out how I can explain how it works without confusing the headline.

Ps, if you are interested in it, I'm running a public beta with 90% off the listed price. If you're interested you can use the code EARLYADOPTER at checkout :)

        1. 2

Thanks! I will give this a longer look.
Related plug: if you want to test out two headlines on an audience, feel free to try my thing: broody.io. It's free.

          1. 2

Amazing, checking it out right now. It's cool, and kind of addictive actually. It's like, every time I complete a poll I'm compelled to see what the next one is. Good job on making someone immediately contribute to the product as soon as they've listed their own. It gives a reason for the contributor to add to the community, while giving good feedback from the community about their own posts! I like it :)

            1. 2

What lovely feedback! Thanks very much!

    2. 1

Productized service to help you better identify your customers.

    3. 1

      User data analytics assistants.

      1. 1

Hm... that's not exactly it and I'm trying to figure out how to explain what a user persona is without being too wordy.

Basically, it's data driven analysis that tells you all about who your customer should be, how to speak to them, where they hang out, and what their basic motivations, desires, fears, etc. are.

    4. 1

I did not get it at the first 10 seconds, but I think is a service that given your product will find your target audience and how to reach it.

      1. 1

Thanks @MrMijoler, yeah I think User Personas are mostly for copywriters, marketers, and UX strategists. I do want to clear it up so anyone can understand within the first 10 seconds of going to the site though, so I'm going to keep working on the copy/design to make sure it happens. Thanks for the feedback!

        1. 2

I'd be careful making it too accessible to everyone, b/c you risk making it less attractive to your target user. "User personas" might be a little esoteric, but it's actually what grabbed my attention most (and I don't even have much familiarity with the term)

          1. 2

Yeah that's a good point. Perhaps I should just start A/B testing the tagline to see if one increases conversions over the other.

    1. 1

Customizable github app to prevent merges .

Initial thought was "Why not just use the branch protection mechanism" then kept reading and was like "Oh, I got it, cool"

    1. 1

Looks like it uses machine learning or other algorithms to do automated marketing stuff

    1. 1

Good landing page. A tool that lets you import your crypto trades from various exchanges and then generates a tax report as a download?

    1. 1

A place to paste code snippets and then be able to search them.

  2. 1

    I'm trying out a service: https://www.talktroop.com

I'm testing the product (at this current stage).

    1. 1

hm interesting. So, an app to create a virtual office space?

What happens when the team gets larger (say 40 people) The office is larger and then it's just a bunch of tiny icons?

I think this could work even for non-remote offices (you just don't have to walk to the other side of the building)

Not sure how scalable this would be but definitely intrigued. I video showing it in action would be cool.

      1. 1

Thanks! There is a 50 person map, you can scroll to zoom in. Max I think 50 people, and then have people split offices by floor or division and be able to move to each one when they need to. I think a video is also a great idea.

A domain brokerage service that offers short domains for $145? Pretty cool idea. How much time do you spend on average to come up with the domain names?

      1. 1

Thanks Manuel 😊On average, I find one good one a day.

Platform that lets users launch text message campaigns. I'm thinking I pay a few bucks, provide a list of numbers, and schedule some texts to go out.
Side note: I'm not sure the hero image is helping much at the moment. Consider showing a sample text message/campaign on the phone.

      1. 1

        You nailed the product. Thanks!
Will look at a new hero image - thanks!

derp. Thanks. Just checked it and should be good to go now. Would love your thoughts.
        Also xeovo looks cool!

    1. 2

Very nice. A way to sign up for online accounts without compromising your primary email address. Think I agree with @yaroslawbagriy; I'm not seeing a strong correlation between the domain name and the service

    2. 2

Email proxy for your real email. By the name I thought it was a site to post rants about Steam (the gaming software) hah.

A video editor for content creators... So that means you would have the same customers as convertkit? But a completely different product, because you're all about video editing!

      1. 1

Thanks for introducing me to convertkit. I am still trying to put a finger on my market and this helps. It's definitely for content creators trying to promote via social media. This helps me as I can look into who follows them and I can figure out where these folks hang out.

        Thanks!

links to free development courses on the web. I think that it will be hard to make good SEO for this website.

      1. 1

        Hello gieroj,
Just curious as of why you think that.

        1. 1

Well, I might be wrong but "content is king" and you do not have your own content at all.

          1. 1

How about writing blogs to attract visitors?

            1. 1

Also, I wonder what is your plan of monetization ??

            2. 1

Maybe, or more description about the courses and some rating with structured data for google

              1. 1

I will try adding that in future updates

https://mojowebstudios.com Well, i am still developing it from past 1 month, but i think it's enough content on the website.

sorry, if you found it un-responsive as i am workiing on that part.

      Help desk software? With chat?

      1. 1

        That's right.
I must ask a question is like if our software meets your requirement, would you buy for it. As we are giving more than half the price given by zendesk and intercom with features like them with more easyness.

    1. 2

An easy way for Adobe Illustrators to export out all the final files associated with a logo design. Because manually doing it kinda sucks.

      1. 2

Yep! I tried to focus on the pain in the headline instead of saying EXACTLY what the extension does, but hopefully, the support text clears it up.

        1. 1

Works for me. I've felt the pain. I think your target audience can easily fill in the blanks.

    2. 2

Package for Adobe Illustrator making logo export process more profound, easier, and user-friendly.

      1. 1

I'm glad that came through. It's mostly about saving time, but ultimately, I think it is more user-friendly as well :D

    3. 1

Super clear messaging and nice polish. Looked great on my phone!

      1. 1

Thank you! I think I spent just about as much time on the messaging as the design.

A health app with a focus on nutrients. I'm thinking it puts a priority on eating the right nutrients vs eating the right foods. Got the sense I'd learn quite a bit about the role of specific nutrients.

    2. 2

      A nutrition guide app :)

    1. 2

some community from which I would get feedback for my B2B product. not sure who would do that though, I mean who would give the enterprise perspective's feedback?

      1. 1

Aha, thanks - looks like we've got some work to do on the landing page.

What it actually does is find your target market on LinkedIn (or rather, a sample of them), and ask them whether they really experience the problem you're looking to solve.

So it's connected with real people in your target market, rather than a community.

        Will work it...!

    2. 2

Validate ideas and interact with potential users. I couldn't quickly determine what validation might look like (i.e. opinions from experts, some kind of polling data, or predictions from some kind of a.i.)

That's pretty much it. Thanks @unremute!

    1. 1

Needs more info to be attractive enough to sign up for. What does it do?

      1. 1

Good point , I'm working on the landing page with more info. What do you think I'm missing in terms of the info. You can log in the same way as you log into tinder.
        That's what it does :
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grm4HQUmyXI

        1. 2

Your YouTube video description does more to describe the app then the landing page. I would start there :)

          1. 1

Thank you for the feedback, it means a lot to me!

    2. 1

Something that automates finding tinder matches

      1. 1

Not exactly, but in terms of UI yes :)
It's more a complimentary rather than replacement though :)

    1. 1

Interesting. How do you get around gambling laws?

      1. 1

It's in MVP stage and laws vary from country to country. But still Cash-based tournaments in games of skill are not considered gambling because the generally accepted definition of gambling involves three specific things: (1) the award of a prize, (2) paid-in consideration (meaning entrants pay to compete) and (3) an outcome determined on the basis of chance.

        1. 1

Thank you for clearing up the difference between paid competition and gambling :)

    2. 1

Play retro-styled games and earn crypto. Looks like you have to pay to play. Can't determine if there's a gambling aspect to this

      1. 2

Bulls eye, however you don't need ETH to play at first, you can choose coin slugs (fun money) to play against someone

        1. 1

Cool! Seeing the gameplay right at the top is a great move. It's pretty damn tempting.

          1. 1

The ETH bit was not clear until I signed up to play a game.

          1. 1

ETH as a wording or as a functioning element?

            1. 1

As a functioning element, I know about cryptos so that the term ETH was familiar.
When I first look at the website I was captivated by the games and went straight to sign up without reading much, then I started reading because I could not play straightforward and realized how it works.

**Good website by the way **

@alexlash This definitely seems like a clone of Grammarly. The benefit is that it's much cheaper. I'm interested in the product, and I know I can do a trial, but can you tell me a little bit more about how this is better than Grammarly?

      1. 1

@mbrunygroth Hey Michael, we've recently hit the top of Product Hunt (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/linguix), and answered this question as well. Here is a roundup of the discussion:

        1. Different approach to privacy: anonymous mode in the extension (that really works not for 10-15 request to the server) + the pastebin mode in the web app (works like secret chats in messaging apps).

        2. Help in content creation (a content templates' library featuring multiple essay formats, research paper templates, etc.)

        3. Linguix uses slightly different approach to grammar checking giving users more freedom in their writing (if you think there should be a passive voice, you know better, not the robot).

        4. Some insights: we are working hard to release more language learning features. The release is scheduled in one-two months.

        5. Our price is lower (assuming discount offers and limited time deals all grammar checkers provide). – but you've noticed this already

        1. 1

Thank you! I will probably check out a trial to consider switching services when my annual membership expires.

          1. 1

Great, if you'll have any questions, ping me or email us at [email protected] to get help

    2. 1

Kinda like grammarly. But maybe with a better UI.

    3. 1

      Grammar checker on acid !

    1. 2

Kinda like a quickbooks with maybe a focus on small businesses.
Side note: isn't it "bookkeeping" instead of "book keeping"?
Side note 2: I hate Quickbooks. If this can replace Quickbooks I'm coming back.

      1. 1

Hello, Recit is giving service providers(freelancers) the ability to do business professionally, by generating invoices that can be settled instantly, tracking their expenditures(receipt scanning), recording clients and keeping track of these clients behaviour and payment pattern.

      1. 1

Exactly, it's more of an invoice, client and receipt tracker for service providers.

This way people selling services online can easily generate an invoice, attach it to a client, and the client can instantly settle this invoice from the invoice page.

    2. 2

Lots of different tools for SME's.
I'd say you'd be better off focusing on one of the many tools you're offering, unless the magic is in having everything in one place?

      1. 1

The landing page may not be descriptive enough as it was built last year before I paused the project. I have revamped my focus and it is:

"Recit offers service providers a cloud-based bookkeeping system, which helps them manage clients, track invoices and generate receipts"

    1. 2

A community where you can share your investment portfolio with other investors.

      I'm bookmarking this :D

err no... the point is you don't need a financial advisor by using other members for help instead. Obviously I need to make this clearer so thanks for pointing it out

        1. 1

Noted and yes I think you need to make it clearer. But these other members are they going to be vetted or random?

          1. 1

random. just normal people helping each other out (a bit like a certain website we're on right now...!)

            1. 1

Sorry for the delay but how efficient is that since it has to do with finance

              1. 1

most financial advisors are there to reassure investors that their plan is sensible and encourage them to stick through it in the bad times (relevant now of course). I'm trying to replicate that side of it more than trading superstars trying to find the next Amazon etc.

took me a while, but planning the points for jira tickets?

I think you're assuming too much. Make it clear this is for planning jira tickets for remote developers. When I first saw the word poker, because I wasn't confident what it actually is about, I wondered if it was something completely different

      1. 1

Hi Ben. Thanks! I changed it a bit, do you think it's clearer? https://estimator.whybug.com

        1. 1

definitely! I think that's a lot better, nice turn around!

    1. 1

Kind of a collection of well-designed sites categorized by the thing they do really well (pricing, landing page, etc). As opposed to just a collection of generally well-designed sites. I think I'll be back!

    2. 1

I'm bookmarking this site. It's going to come in super handy.

    3. 1

You nailed it with this sentence up top.
"A curated design collection of specific pages commonly used on the websites of online businesses."
That's as straight forward as anything :)

    1. 1

Headline kinda nails it. Cryptocurrency prices that get displayed on the MacBook menu bar. Btw that hero video didn't load for me at first.

      1. 1

ah thank you for letting me know!

    2. 1

Quickly access current cryptocurrency prices from your Mac toolbar.

    3. 1

A quick view Mac bar app that shows current crypto prices? Like a stock app that runs in the menu bar?

        1. 1

May I ask a question about this wonderful app? Is there a way to pin your fav coins to the top? I didn't see a way to easily follow the crypto I'm most interested in.

      Marketing for healthcare.

    2. 2

Internet marketing for anyone! Wait, no, just for healthcare industries. And maybe you pay based on results vs flat rates.

    3. 2

Sell the sizzle not the sausage. I would talk about benefits not services. Eg we can help you attract more patients and increase your revenues.

      1. 1

We’ve tried that but oddly the doctors/office managers don’t respond the way you would think. Although, adding it to the front page wouldn’t be a bad idea. Hmm...... 🤔

        1. 2

Really? I suppose whatever works for your market. To me the homepage just seemed a bit overwhelming with information and options.

I wonder could you play on the health theme? Eg we cure your marketing headaches.

    4. 1

"No Contracts. Just Results." - It's free unless you get good results?

      1. 2

We use that as a way to ease potential clients' tension towards ANOTHER monthly fee. Most SEO companies require a contract you can't get out of. Basically, we tell the customer that it will take a few months to see any significant movement in the SERPs and if they decide they don't want to stay after month 1 or 2, then we won't fight them. We don't see why we should lock in a customer if they aren't happy.

Automatic flight path logging for small airplanes?

      1. 1

That's the how :) What do you think I should change in order to better convey the "what" of the service?

        1. 1

I would have guessed @egyptik's description as well. What is it you guys are offering if not flight path logging for small airplanes?

          1. 1

I'm trying to solve the pain to maintain an up-to-date logbook by automating the process to do so.

While flight path logging has some additional benefits such as debriefing value and additional bragging rights, I believe it's ultimately just an (technical) implementation detail to achieve the goal.

In the past I have moved the product from being a flight analysis tool to being a digital flight log as that's more generic and recognizable to the aviation industry. Analysis is just a nice addition now. Any thoughts how I can convey the added value more clearly or effective?

            1. 1

Have you shown it to any pilots? Perhaps IH wouldn't understand the value immediately (unless anyone is a pilot), but pilots would understand and ultimately determine the value of the product/service.

              1. 1

I'm a glider pilot myself, and primarily built it to scratch my own itch. I've shown some and the general reaction is positive. Most notably I've had comments from people who put a lot of value into a single feature, and absolutely want to have it. I'm currently trying to find ways to successfully target and offer relevant services to different categories of pilots.

    2. 1

That’s really cool! Which flights does it automatically record? Just yours or all from a certain airport?

      1. 2

All flights, but filters just mine in order to maintain the logbook, regardless of where I fly from (reasonably enough limited to Europe, for now).

    3. 1

A digital log book for pilots rather than a physical book?

Get more accurate information about your visitors in your Google Analytics dashboard

    2. 3

First I was like, what, but that already was in there, right? Then I was like oooooh, so that's why.

    3. 2

Well done this is not only a really useful tool but a slick landing page as well

    4. 2

I’m signing up for this. It’s going to give me more data. Which I love.

    5. 1

Plugin for Google Analytics. I understand it brings back some information that doesn't display on Analytics anymore, but I don't know what that information is because I'm not well-versed in analytics.

A no-log, small private VPN with 7 locations. Would be tempting if I wasn't already running Wireguard+Pi-Hole on my RPi4 :)
