We are building an Android app called Focushala focused on attention and mental clarity.
The app has not launched yet.
While designing the experience, one question kept coming up.
How do users actually end their day?
Most focus tools optimize productivity during work hours.
But the mental noise usually shows up at night.
We decided to experiment with a simple gratitude reflection feature.
No streaks.
No rewards.
Just a short daily moment to intentionally stop.
The goal is not motivation.
It is inner stillness.
We believe focus improves when the mind has a clean closing ritual.
This feature will be part of the initial Android launch, and we are still refining it.
If you are building in productivity or wellness, I am curious.
How do you design for stopping, not just doing more?
Interesting design choice. In my own work with a social app, we often questioned whether new features actually aligned with core behaviors users needed. I'm wondering, how are you validating that this feature delivers real value early on?
Good point.
There’s strong research showing that gratitude practices improve mood, focus, and how people approach the rest of their day — so we added it deliberately as a tone-setting habit, not a feature for novelty.
