Pre-validation strategies

I am currently looking at a software company that has made multiple applications (CRM, IoT, data processing) tailored to their customers, while I think with some tweaking these applications could be useful for other customers as well. How would you approach pre-validation for this, since it is build with one customer in mind and for their particular business case?
