Prelaunch Landing Page for growhouse.supply

http://growhouse.supply

Hey IHers!

I am a marketing newb that knows a little bit about web dev, I am thinking about launching growhouse.supply - a website serving growers that are looking for supplies (specialized lighting, hydro systems, etc.).

I know there are probably not that many people on here that are going to be customers of my site, but I would love general feedback on styling, brand messaging, things that are glaring mistakes, etc.

I have always worked on the technical side of things and never really in the marketing side, and this is the first time I'm launching anything.

Any feedback on the landing page is greatly appreciated. Additionally, if anybody can help me with a marketing/audience building starting point, that would really save my life.

Also as a specific question, I have the site pretty much ready to go, but it's blocked by a password page. Should I just unlock it, or leave the email page up and try to drive email signups until I have a decent amount of subscribers?

Thanks!

Your landing page doesn't convey any value to me as it is currently built.

Your sentence from your post above "serving growers that are looking for supplies (specialized lighting, hydro systems, etc.)." is more valuable than your landing page right now. I would put it on there.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I incorporated that wording into the page, as a smaller paragraph explaining what kind of products are on the site.

Would you mind taking another look?

Good. Improving. Now add the why. What makes you better? Is it your design? Selection? price? Experience?

Hi Joe! Yes, remove the password and unlock that thing. I agree with @joshdance on the landing page. Give the audience reasons why. I could help potentially help you with the marketing/audience building. Do you have a budget? Is this a side-hussle?

Adam, thanks for your comment. I am really torn between building up a buzz around the password page and just letting the thing go.

This is my full time job and we do have a budget (not such a big one). I am definitely interested in working with a partner for content generation and marketing strategy.

From your site I see that you do blog writing. I am definitely going to sign up for the free article and see if the 500/mo works for us based on the quality and response. Are there any other services that you provide in terms of marketing/audience building?

Thanks for the reply. As this is your full-time job, are you currently generating revenue from the "one big customer" as mentioned in your bio? Sounds very promising.

The free article will be in your inbox within a week! I've always intended for Freshly Squeezed to be more than just blogs. I want to phase it in to be a full-service digital marketing agency, which startups can economically access (genuinely affordable). I've worked in digital marketing and content creation for several years now, both as an employee and independently. The team behind Freshly Squeezed has a really wide breadth of skills, so whatever you have in mind in terms of content generation and marketing strategy, we can achieve it and gradually start to build an audience for Growhouse Supply. By the way, New Jersey is great! I visited a few months ago whilst on holiday in NY!

Yes, we are generating significant revenue from that customer. Enough to fund the development of the site and a bunch of marketing initiatives. I actually just moved to NJ from NY though, funny that you mention it! I look forward to reading the article! What kind of budget do you usually work of off for bootstrapped companies? We're definitely looking to start investing in marketing and audience building, but scared of going in the wrong direction or throwing money away. If you had a way to start really small, that would be unbelievable.

          1. 1

We could start small of course! It just depends on what kind of marketing activities you had in mind. In terms of budget, it varies on each bootstrapped company. They all have their own definition of 'bootstrapped' and 'small'. What's yours? Happy to have this conversation via email (adam@freshlysqueezed.online) if you'd prefer!
