Prelaunchers got 80 subscribers and 112 upvotes from PH launch in a week

Idea

I often see on IH and other platforms people building landing pages for a product to see a traction of market and it gets lost in the wild because there is no way to find those projects at one place and they abandon that project despite having a great idea. So it hit me what if people have a platform where they can prelaunch their products and early adopters can find products according to their need which would help both the maker and the user.

Recently i built a platform for makers to prelaunch their product/app. It was a success(small but still), because a lot of products are being launched however there is no platform to cater to a prelaunch (atleast i haven't came across any).

Launch

Last week i launched prelaunchers on Product Hunt. It was upvoted 112 times and i got great feedback from people in the comments and also 80 subscribers for the email newsletter.

I made a Reddit post as well. Which was seen by more than 15k.

Currently there are 50 products listed on the platform and some are yet to be approved still. Though i am also getting some launched products as well for the listing (few of them i approved because they were launched very recently) where seemed great.

Feedback

Now i am thinking of making another page which lists such useful launched products for people to check them out. Let me know your thoughts? Also how can i improve prelaunchers as well, both UI and functionality?

Hey that's pretty cool. Well done on getting so much organic traction.

Now you have a problem to solve. How will you keep people interested in returning to your website?

There's a lot of demand for getting eyeballs on prelaunched products, but can you get a steady supply of people and have them visit Prelaunchers regularly?

      Thanks .

I think an intuitive user experience with some features to get users involved would be a good start. What do you think?

I submitted a tool but the image preview is scaled in a really weird way. Either show the image at its current aspect ratio or provide more information on the size requirements.

The idea is solid and I think you could have a really cool project on your hands.

        Sure thing.

I'm building a product too so I am quite familiar with the process :).

This is massive, with the rate of the organic adoption and feedback, you are not far from building something great.

what's your plan on building up a community of early testers and how to keep them engaged in the platform?

Thanks for such amazing feedback. it's very exciting :)

I am working on making it a community platform. Lot of folks are liking the idea. Providing features like comments, interested button etc.
Let me know what you think? any suggestions on scaling and improving?

Great idea, maybe better to ask also for an email address in the submit form. I just submitted my product Qooadro.

Thanks for suggestion, will surely add that

I have submitted my product Qpchat

    A little suggestion:

    1. Website should prompt the best dimension of the submitted images, the display of some larger images, some smaller, not coordinated, there should be a preview feature.
    2. The font in the description section is too small, 9px, which is difficult to read.

Thanks for submitting :) It is listed now.

Thanks a lot for the feedback :) I will fix these issues.

Any suggestion on improving the site is also welcome :)

    Well done, thanks for sharing!

Has any of your early exposure added to the bottom line? Or have you not started monetizing yet?

    1. 1

Haven't started monetizing yet. Still figuring out how to monetize it. I want to give a fair chance to everyone submitting their prelaunch product because most of them don't have an income yet and i don't want to ruin it for them.

Thank you for such useful suggestions. I agree with you. I am sort of working in that direction of adding users interest representation (likes, shares etc). For monetization, i am thinking of other ways, however my first priority is improving the site to accomodate a good flow for both users and makers.

For obvious reasons, i won't be charging either makers or users. I am still figuring out a way to monetize this. Thanks :)
