Presenting PIRMYD, a new word game. Care to give it a try and leave some feedback?

Hello world,

I'm Iustin, a web developer from Barcelona with a love for word games. Nice to e-meet you!

Last week I released my first game to the public. Is called PIRMYD and you can find at www.pirmyd.com. It's an anagram solver with a touch of crossword puzzle.

If you have time and feel like giving it a try, please check it out. And let me know what you think of it!

Wish you all a great remainder of the year and an even better new year,

Just played - super fun game. Shared with my extended family, I’ll update you with their feedback if they play. We love games like this.

Would be awesome to save progress each day so I can have stats like Wordle.

UPDATE: 2-3 other family members played it. I think everyone liked it pretty well.

Great news! I will definitely add stats to it. It's now on my top to do list. Thanks for the feedback and for sharing it with your family!

I just played again and enjoyed it. It’s a great game. My only other feedback so far is that some of the words have been pretty obscure. If the game is meant for more casual players, you might consider only using common words. The hardest today was “antipole” - didn’t even know that was a word and it took me a lot of tries.

I understand. Thanks a lot for giving more feedback!

I've discarded multiple pyramids because of this. In general I consider a ratio of 2 uncommon words per pyramid to 4 regular ones to be acceptable. But I may have to revise that if the game becomes frustrating.

One question: did you used the clues? I don't know if you noticed it, but inside the hamburger menu there is a 'Show clues' toggle button. That will show a definition/synonym/hint of the word to find. Is especially helpful when you get stuck on a level.

Yeah, that system makes a lot of sense. I didn’t use the hints but would consider it in the future - I’d forgotten about them. I wonder if you could surface a button to “show hints” after a few failed guesses on a word.

That's a great idea! It will add more visibility to it as right not is somewhat hidden.

Side-note: I've just added keyboard support to the game. Next time you play, if you're on desktop feel free to use the keyboard instead of the mouse.
