Preventing Piracy

Hey Guys,

Due to COVID-19, theatres are not opened. Movies are being released in OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video. New OTT applications are being built

In a few hours, we can find movies/series/tutorials in piracy sites. I feel very sad.

I want to work on a player that supports video encryption and content to be played on the encrypted player. Help the OTT platforms from piracy

Work on a search engine runs every 30min and gives links available in the piracy sites.

Before start working on the applications, would like to know actually how the content is being downloaded and get a better picture.

Does anyone know how the content from online being downloaded from applications like Netflix, Amazon, Udemy, Pluralsight?

Any other ideas on preventing piracy or know about such encrypted video formats and search engines?

I don't think there is a good idea for an indie solution, and I believe there would be some b2b ent. multi million dollar licence offers out there as the auto submit millions of DMCA notices to google, youtube and others...
What pirates do to avoid software detection is process them.. for example a lot of pirated videos on youtube add music on top of the original video to avoid audio matching and some change the video layout to avoid video matching, like people used to small screen a video with a huge background picture...

I think this is a huge project to be worth anything..

How can they download the content from the sites ?

Can't we build an OTT application with encrypted videos and player ?

Worse case you can put a vid camera pointed at your screen, done.
Frequently they use a software that does the same thing - screen record. Same thing people use to make videos showing off websites/apps...

Encrypted video streams etc are only targeting simple users, they can't actually prevent video recording in practice.
And on the way just cost everyone more money and inconvenience

I think you are looking something like this https://www.vdocipher.com/ - a DRM player which add layers of protection other than standard DRM polices
