Hi all,
One of the challenges I have consistently faced as a Product Manager working at different growth stage startups was the ability to launch new products quickly with different pricing models. Generally it's been due to long dev time and complex operational processes.
Of the back of it, I am considering building a Pricing/Billing as a Service product offering that will enable businesses to spin up and experiment with new pricing models quickly and easily. This service will additionally manage invoicing (tax implications), collections and reporting.
I want to validate if other businesses face the same/similar problem. Reiterating my hypothesis below:
"Growth stage businesses want to evolve their business model to maximise revenue and win new customers but are facing problems with experimenting with pricing models fast because of complex tech stacks and extensive manual operational processes".
If this rings a bell, would you be up for answering a few questions through a short customer interview? Comments are also welcome.

I'm not part of your target market; but I can 100% see this. Many of the founders I have worked with, have had this problem. Same with big companies.
Thanks for the response! I'd love to connect and discuss some of the problems the founders you've worked with have faced in this area. Potentially even get connected to some of those founders. Let me know if this is ok for you and I can send over a linkedin request?
of course; happy to chat.

I think that's the wrong approach into pricing. Your marketing strategy should determine sales price and not vise versa. If you let sales price to determine your business model, your business model will have high chance of failure.
There are many resources on pricing: MBA, PMP, typically have substantial resources on how to do pricing. Try not to reinvent the wheel here.
yes this has always been a big friction. We ended up building something internally to allow us to test different pricing but also different pricing structures. Also, don't forget about coupon management as well.
Thanks Raza. Would love hear more about the problems you faced and how you solved them. Would you be up for a short chat? Happy to connect via LinkedIn
Let’s do it 🦾
