You’re pricing a subscription plan worth about $100. Which price do you think would lead to the most sales?

Which one?
  1. $100

    I think $95 will do

    I would actually choose $97

Cool, that suggestion came up on the twitter poll too!

It depends on what you're selling.

If you want to be seen as a bargain, end in 9.
If you want to be seen as premium, end in 0.

I like 95, though, since it's not as "cheap"-looking as ending in 9, but you do still get some of the subconscious benefits of having the first digit be lower.

Great points, I agree 95 has a lot of visual appeal. It’s actually the one I had in mind winning when I asked the question. Thought actually being the lowest and not looking “cheap” had something going for it? Interestingly, the twitter poll disagrees atm and likes 99 best. Perhaps, it’s perceived bargain even though it’s not actually a bargain 😉 It’s close between the two though, and bet that’s where what you’re selling and how you want to be perceived comes into play.
