Pro bono and volunteer work

How have you found organizations that need help and open to part-time volunteers? I'm particularly keen to do pro bono or volunteer consulting work. My preference is for startups on tech, education, sustainable/agtech, media. But open to other opportunities to help.

I think I can add most value on topics like:

  • Business ops: automate and optimize sales processes e.g. inbound bound funnels, project management
  • Data and analytics: establish accessibility to data across multiple platforms using no-code solutions e.g., Segment, Zapier
  • Strategy and planning: business case analysis, financial modelling, testing and building new business concepts

    Hi Nigel,
    I'm starting a no-code school in Africa, if that's something you would consider please shoot me a message.
    In a nutshell it's a free no-code school for young people in Rwanda.
    It's a "not for profit" venture but it's a "for impact" venture :)

    Hi Nigel - I really liked your post and want to explore a way to partner with you. What I propose is:

    1. 1 to 1 trade offer to start out with. This could mean I follow all of your projects in all social channels, write review / etc and vise versa.
    2. If step one goes well: I would want to do a quick project with minimal hours involved that we could trade hours for hours - perhaps there is a technical aspect of your projects you are creating that can use dev or design work. This is at your discretion as to what you could benefit from.
    3. If step one and two go well: I understand you are looking to put in some volunteer hours and my SaaS could benefit greatly, however I may not be the type of larger organization or non profit you are looking for. It is a for profit SaaS in the tech / media space and could benefit greatly by advice in business, data, and strategy. Each of these categories would not only be for the SaaS itself, but are productized services incorporated into the product. And then in turn, it uses it's own productized service (of course) to promote itself. Your advice would directly influence if not build out aspects of the actual product / service.
      My priority if you are doing pro - bono is to make sure you get something to demonstrate that meets your goals in every way since you are investing valuable time into a project.

      I looked at CP and didn't see a pricing page. What does it cost and why isn't the cost clearly listed?

        It also states on the registration form

        Thank you for pointing this out, I will think of making the fact that it is a free platform more clear.

          Ah okay. I read it as "free tools" with registration, but it doesn't say if registration is free. So I assumed there would be a cost to sign up. Thanks for clarifying.
