ProdJournal - is my idea valid? And what about the landing page?

https://prodjournal.lpages.co/

Hi IH!

Since joining the community a couple months ago, I've learned a lot about new approaches to building products, and especially about validating ideas with customers before moving forward with building anything (which is pretty hard for someone who loves starting new projects!).

So when I had a new idea for a product, I knew I had to start with building a landing page and figuring out the messaging.

Please take a look at my landing page and let me know

  1. What you think about the product
  2. What you think of the landing page itself

Thanks so much for your help!

    Yo yj!

I recorded some thoughts for you, and jotted down a few notes. Included is a link to a 17 minute video with a detailed walkthrough of my thoughts. You can find all that posted here: https://reviewcycle.io/p/bde02a

For reference, I'm a UX designer (15 years), and have worked with a ton of companies helping to improve these kind of things and make them more effective.

Love the product idea tho! Have experienced this issue myself many times, excited to see how this thing evolves!

Hi @maderalabs! Wow, thank you so much for your feedback. It was really valuable. I'm working on implementing it now. I'll definitely re-post on IH once I get around to all the changes I'd like to make.

I also like the idea of ReviewCycle as well. I'd love to trade with you and give you my feedback on ReviewCycle if you'd like it.

Hey yj, the landing page communicates the idea very clear.
The "See features" line with the little arrow doesn't add any value. I'd remove that.

About the idea, I wouldn't be a user. I track this kind of info at Evernote tbh and when it comes to actions that affect traffic, I make Google Analytics notes. Not the fanciest but I don't think I need a tool for that.
If we'd be a team of say... more than 10, then maybe something like this becomes more relevant in my opinion.
I'd be interested in hearing other opinions though :-)

Thanks for sharing and best of luck!

Hi @nicomatico! Thanks so much for your feedback. Yeah, one of the reasons I thought of this product is that Google analytics' annotations just don't cut it for me. I often forget to put them in there for one, and I feel like they are too simplistic. I wonder if there are ways to enhance them or better utilize then in GA itself, but they aren't obvious to me as a casual/non-power user. Plus I think screenshots could help too.

I'd love to hear what others think as well.
