Product feedback exchange program for B2C startups

Similar to ‘Landing Page Feedback’, I would like to establish a 'Product Feedback' for founders who are beyond validating the problem and are focusing on validating the solution (the product itself).

In general, your most valuable source of feedback are the '100 people who love your product'. They will likely respond to cold emailing, will willingly invest their time to answer your survey, or will be available for an interview session. However, for all other users respond rate is doomed to be disastrous.

In this context, let me divide early startups roughly in these 3 phases:
1.) Problem validation phase
-- can be improved iteratively by landing page feedback
-- ~100 users (i.e. signups), but very few active users

2.) Early solution validation phase (we are in this phase)
-- can be improved iteratively by product feedback
-- some active users

3.) Late solution validation phase
-- can be improved iteratively by product feedback
-- at least 100 active users ('100 people who love your product')

What are you doing if you are between phase 2 and 3? In this case, it will be very difficult to get sufficient feedback in order to iterate and improve your product.

For this reason, we created a simple Slack group. How does it work?

1.) Join the slack group: product-feedback-swap.slack.com (contact.quambene@gmail.com)
2.) Post your startup with its UVP in the respective market category (there is one Slack Channel per market category)
3.) Browse the market categories you are interested in, choose a startup, and contact the respective founder in a Slack Direct Message for a product feedback swap

It is clear that product feedback is more time-consuming than landing page feedback because you have to sign up and actually use the product. However, in this way, both parties benefit from a reliable feedback source.

I had this exact problem so I'm building Stackrate — a platform where developers peer-review each other's apps with structured feedback. No 'looks cool' comments, just honest critique from devs who ship. Waitlist is live if you want to follow along: https://stackrate-waitlist.netlify.app

Yep good idea. "Landing page feedback" is amazing series of threads - actually I do not see often such devotion to help other people in communities like in this particular thread.

'Landing page feedback' is indeed one of the core values of IH.

The problem I have with this solution is that it limits the reach of the suggestions.

I like using forums like indiehackers because I'm helping more than one person at a time.

If you'd like feedback on a product, I'd be happy to check it out tomorrow and give detailed feedback

I completely understand your concerns. However, for product feedback ideally I would like to see some mid- to long-term interview partners. People who know your product and will answer a question here and there. People who may rate a new feature.

In my opinion, Slack is great for product interviews over a specific period of time. On the other hand, threads on IH are relatively fast-moving, i.e. difficult for long-term engagement.

In general, I would like to see a "Product Feedback" group on IH. But I could imagine that it wouldn't really work because of the reasons above.

Are we not allowed to sign up for the slack channel? Can you send me an invite at
