Product Feedback: News/Activity Feed as a Service
A quick post to validate a product idea - a news/activity feed that embeds into your SaaS.
Is this something you would use? Would you pay for it?
Story:
While building my startup (Tenancy Stream), we needed a per-user activity feed, like the Facebook newsfeed, with email/iOS and web notifications.
We couldn't find anything that was per-user, flexible, cheap and didn't need a lot of development, so we built our own.
After showing off Tenancy Stream to fellow developers, they liked the news feed and have suggested it could be a standalone product for developers and startups.

Would this product be of interest to anyone? Right now, it has the features below but more could be added:
- Private activity feeds, with token auth
- Post to all users activity feeds
- Post to select groups of users
- Notifications (web, iOS via SNS, webhook and email summaries)
- Post messages to specific users or all users via API
- Zapier - make events from other applications and post them on your newsfeed.
- API to search and filter all activity in the feed
Use Cases:
- Community building - chat, newsfeed etc
- Product update logs
- Newsfeed part of a no-code SaaS
- Dashboard widget showing all your startup activity from across the web
- Give users a log of activity on their account (new thing created, thing deleted, billing updated) for compliance
