Product Feedback - Yak Tack
I've been working on Yak Tack (https://yaktack.com) since March. I have a fascination with words and wanted to incorporate the spaced-repetition technique to help me remember them.

Importantly, I'd love your feedback. Specifically:

Unlimited words ("tacks") are $5/year. One active tack is free. How do you feel about this pricing scheme?

After Day 3, do you feel it's easier to recall the word's definition?

Does the "multiple choice" email, which you start getting at Day 3, work for you?

What's missing?
I went there but wasn't sure initially what the service was, what a tack was, or what I was doing (even though I typed in a word until I got to the email signup form).
Finally found it at the bottom: "Yak Tack helps people expand their vocabulary." and that you do this by getting "an email with the definition at expanding daily intervals. This is known as spaced repetition." It wasn't until reading that part at the bottom that I realized what I was signing up for.
Maybe consider moving some of this to the top? I know there's the Remember. Words. headline, but that just made me think "Ok. Yeah it's good to remember words. Is this a storage service? I'm just going to type a word in. Ok it gave me the definition. Is this just a nice looking dictionary? I guess I'll click tack. Now they want my email. Not sure why I'd give them my email."
Nice. I appreciate the insight into your mental model here. I'll make some tweaks to re-arrange things in the "zero state" to help folks know what to expect.
This could be applied to SAT prep and academic, flash card type stuff, where users can create their own list of words.
Also, maybe make the "how it works" steps more prominent, and potentially walk someone through it at the very beginning. I got to the page and didn't really have a footing - I was a bit lost.
Great feedback. I was also thinking of doing something similar for people (meet someone at a conference, use spaced repetition to remember who they are.)
