Product Hunt Launch Best Practices
Hi everybody!
I recently published my app Solfej on Product Hunt on a whim without doing much research.
It was a let down to say the least. I almost made it to the front page but not quite.
Here were the main mistakes I made:
- Posted at a sub optimal time
- Did not have a strategy to reach out to my audience and get them to view my launch page
- Did not make a first comment
- Added a long winded description with no clear value prop
- Uploaded an upside down image 🤦
So with that in mind I launched a microsite I've been working on.
Here's how I improved on these past pitfalls:
- Posted at an optimal time (2 am central time)
- Have an outreach email ready to go out to my audience
- Posted the first comment!
- Added a well thought out value prop, and a clear description
- no upside down images this time :)
