Product Hunt preparations

Hi, my startup partnerplace.io is launching on Product Hunt next week on the 13th June. I wanted to create two posts:

  1. This one - explaining everything we've done so far to promote on the platform
  2. Next one - after the launch, I will try to summarize the traffic and how the day went.

If you have any tips before the launch - I would love to hear them in the comments!

Hope this list will be helpful to some of you:

  1. My goal is not to reach the top. We have a B2B product, which makes it much less "virable" to PH. But we do want to have a decent traffic boost. Because of this we chose a weekday (Thursday, 13th of June). Based on some of the articles I read, on weekdays you have more traffic, on weekends you have more chances of reaching the top. We will see:)
  2. I have a list of 100+ people with accounts on Product Hunt. This was done manually by me, with a bit of help from Linkedin Sales Navigator. Product Hunt's search allows you to find people with accounts, so I had to manually check probably 500 people to get the 100+ list. A few hours of manual, repetitive work. I will be contacting them during the launch day.
  3. Bonus tip for Sales Navigator - if you look for founders, CEO's of startups around 40% of them have accounts. I started by looking at my closest business relations, but there the statistics looked more like 20% with accounts.
  4. I've checked the last few postings on PH and looked for inspiration around the design of the images, than managed to create something similar with a free tool - Canva.
  5. I've done the same with the first comment. Here my CTO read the last 20 postings, took inspiration, wrote a comment. Then he rewrote it with chatGPT and then manually rewrote it again. Then I took over and added a few tweaks:)
6.Remember the avatar can be an animated gif. There is a bunch of free tools that will create them for you. You just need the designs (again - Canva is a good tool for that)
  6. We've created a special LP with a special offer and a special pricing for the PH audience.
  7. My CTO is currently building an interactive demo of the Partnerplace tool, with a software called Arcade - we figured it will be important to grasp the full benefits of the platform.
  8. One last thing I am planning is to have some ready emails to be able to quickly respond to people asking for a demo. This is planned for next week.
  9. Lastly, I've created a description and design for the upcoming PH list - it is live since yesterday, feel free to click on "notify me " and support us here: https://www.producthunt.com/products/partnerplace-io

I am very interested to hear your suggestions what else we can do to achieve success at PH - feel free to share any suggestions!
