Product Hunt upvotes don’t decide the value of your product.

They decide how visible it was for one day.

I’ve seen products with:

  • 20–50 upvotes → convert real users

  • #1 of the day → disappear in weeks

That’s not failure.
That’s misreading the signal.

Real validation looks boring:

  • Someone comes back without reminders

  • Someone pays full price

  • Someone complains when it breaks

Product Hunt can distribute attention.
It cannot certify demand.

Curious — for founders who’ve launched there:
what actually moved your product forward after PH?

hot take but PH is better as a backlink and social proof badge than an actual distribution channel now. the better move after launch was taking the few engaged users from PH, talking to them 1-on-1, and letting that shape the next 3 months of building. the leaderboard ranking was irrelevant
