Hey all,
Would love to get some opinions and maybe some of you will genuinely enjoy the product i've made (android only, for now).
I've made a communal playlist app that in a sense allows you to "share the aux" with everyone involved. You can imagine a road trip scenario where everyone wants control`, but only one person actually controls the music.
The idea is simple, someone creates a "party", members join the party, add songs & upvote other songs and the most upvoted songs will be played next.
Heres the Google Play link for the ones charitable enough to help out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zed.app.shareplay.
Love this idea, can imagine this being especially useful at house parties where you want to link up multiple rooms! 🎵
Using it on my own it felt pretty solid but i've yet to try it out with friends (which is where it should shine), i'll get back to you once i do that. All in all Milosh, well done and best of luck with it.
This is really something unique
On android, clicking the link takes me to a not found page in the Play Store
Yes sorry i took down the googleplay link temporarily. It's back up now!
Milosh, mad props for the great idea! I've installed it and poked around, here's some feedback:
One potential optimization: instead of using random alphanumeric codes, consider using random dictionary words stringed together (maybe use top 5000 by popularity)
Thanks for the advice, i like the dictionary word idea, i'm gonna tinker with it. In regards to the feedback tho, it seems like the app wasn't working whatsoever for you? Thats strange since i've never seen that happen before, mind telling me which phone you used (i haven't had any of those issues)?
I tried Connecting to Spotify again, a quick 'Failed to login' shows up after focus switches to Spotify briefly. Button is still green w spinning circle. I'm on a Pixel 3 XL running Android 10
I also noticed the Join Code text box allows multi-line input. Perhaps trigger 'Join' button if Enter key is pressed on keyboard?
Yeah so i made a bit of a bozo mistake thats been fixed now, however i lost a crucial password in the proccess (no need to explain the technicals here) but i've had to upload a new playstore link, If you're still willing you can check it out the new link (i updated this post) and download the new version of the app.
p.s i added in some of your suggestions!
Neat! I think thats a pretty cool idea actually. Small comment but the shareable link feature doesn't really work in facebook since it opens the link within the app
Yeah it's a little annoying but i'm not sure there's a work around. You essentially have to open it within messenger and then in the top right click "open in browser" and it'll work
