My PH launch went pretty well. You can see it here. The main way I drove early upvotes and comments was by sharing with my Twitter followers and announcing to the ~1000 or so people on the Divjoy mailing list. I'd definitely recommend having at least 5 people that are willing to help get the conversation going by asking questions, leaving their opinion of your product, etc.
