Hi all,
I have seen many Indie Hackers would launch a job board over the last few years. There are 3,151 discussions in IH about job boards right now.
And one of the most common mistakes that I have seen starters make is to create a niche job board where the market is too competitive(for example, remote jobs) or pick a niche where there is not enough interest to make a profit from it.
So based on these learnings, I wrote a blog post, sharing 10 niche job board ideas that can be successful.

The goal here is not to focus on 10 specific ideas but more to share a framework that I have used to evaluate these ideas. Which, hopefully, will be helpful to others so they can evaluate their job board idea before starting.
how saturated is the jobboards market?
Hi Marty, I have an idea on an international job board but needs help in setting up a multilingual platform. Any idea how that can be done? Thanks
Thanks for the post! I’m curious if you have any recommendations for how to approach SEO with job boards?
Thank you, I am glad you found it helpful! We actually have a detailed blog post on SEO for job boards. You can check it out here: https://jboard.io/blog/seo-for-job-boards. Let me know if you find it helpful!
Thank you for sharing!! I agree that it is extremally important to leverage strategic positioning while competing in mature markets.
What do you think about the value of customer service and hard-work in relation to success in a competitive market (specifically talent acquisition software). Is a relatively standard IT focused job board doomed to fail without some type of innovation? Or can that same company thrive solely on consistently offering value?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on specific idea for building job boards. In this highly competitive space, choosing the right niche is the key. I am also working on a similar idea and your blog made me rethink my decision but I am going for it as I see it is at least hitting 3 from the 4 key factors!
Glas it was helpful. Good luck with your project @spse!
