Set up an existing standup bot in an existing Slack community
I've helped an online instructor set up Standup Alice in his Slack community, to prompt everyone for weekly progress updates. It's not a perfect solution but it's a good start, and really helps me see where the problems are and what can be improved.
Rewrote my landing page content for a new offering
Given the learnings from the Startup Alice experiment, I've come up with a new Slack bot offering and rewrote the content. It's still work in progress, but feel free to check it out.
Completed configuring the deployment process to use live Stripe keys in production
Finished designing the remaining pages for the website
I've designed the blog post page, blog index, and a now page.
Completed 6 lessons of the Responsive Web Design Bootcamp
Now up to module 2, lesson 31
Started Productivity Essentials course from Fizzle
Watched 3 lessons
Although I did a few of the things I'd planned, I didn't quite manage to get through everythingโฆ
Restart the course Become a SuperLearner
I'll do it this week. I swear!
Theme days still need planning
If you've been following along, you know that I'm trying theme days. It's been working well overall, but I've realised I need to do more to plan my days, or otherwise the day goes by without getting much done. This is especially true of Anything Can Happen Wednesday. So, going forward, I'll try to plan my days the night before.
I'm attending GDG DevFest London on Saturday. Also, I've lost most of Thursday as I need to catch up with client work that I fell behind on because of other commitments. So, I'll try to keep this week light!
Redesign the landing page
I've written new content for my landing page, and there's a lot of text to explain how the product works. I'd like to design it in a way that makes sense.
Start rebuilding the landing page
Restart the course Become a SuperLearner
I've been meaning to restart this for several weeks now, but I keep not finding the time. So, I'll make it a priority over the other courses that I'm going through right now. If you're interested in 'buddy up' as accountability partners, please let me know!
Do a few more lessons of the Responsive Web Design Bootcamp
Continue (and probably finish) the Productivity Essentials course from Fizzle
The designs are ready but I'm not going to work on it this week. Usually, I'd work on a personal project such as this on Mondays but since I have limited time this week, I'm going to dedicate the day to Xebel.
Hot shower ๐ฟ
It's funny because last week I listed "cold shower" as something I'm grateful for. Well, I guess it takes regular cold showers to appreciate a nice hot shower in cold weather! I'm not letting this become a habit though!
Sushi ๐ฃ
I can have sushi every day for my entire life. That's how much I love it!
Work from home ๐
I work from home, but last week I had to travel to central London for an event, and I had to literally squeeze myself onto the train because it was so jam-packed! It was a good reminder to appreciate the comfort of working from home!
Kindle ๐
It's great that I can read the same book on my Kindle, and on my phone, and have everything sync so seamlessly.
Hot Chocolate โ๏ธ
One of my favourite hot chocolates is the Chocolate Milano from Caffรจ Nero. Chocolate and its derivates seem to be a recurring thing on this list. ๐
My car ๐
They say it's difficult to have a car in London. I agree, but I wouldn't give it up! It's just so convenient, and even though it might make me lazy at times, I'm really grateful to have a car and the ability to drive!
Ladybug ๐
Not sure I can say I'm grateful for ladybugs per se, but I could say that nature is so cool, and I'm grateful for that! A ladybug managed to get itself stuck behind our curtain. I have no idea how it got there since the window wasn't open but it took me a whole 10 minutes to figure out how to let it out! I did it eventually, and it felt good ๐
