Project management tools

Don't use Jira when you are a startup! It's slow, expensive and overly complex. You will need 20 minutes just to figure out a simple configuration which you can set up easily with Trello in a few minutes. In my opinion, Jira might only be beneficial for multi-million-dollar companies.

Basecamp is amazing for multiple projects with custom teams arrangement per-project, allowing both arrange different people on each project from employer perspective, and work on different projects from different owners in the same workspace. Also, it allows to "loop-in" external project customers, to let them see some of the work discussions in team (but not all, only all that is allowed, so they wont mess with your internal decision making)
Also, couple months ago they introduced free tier. I was using Basecamp starting from old version as contractor, employee, employer, manager, and its pretty fun to use in any of this roles.

There are a lot. Try to google it, and you'll find many sites created explicitly for that. But for multitasking, you'll need something to hold and store the information from all of them so you can always check it, just in case. I am currently working on my own saas product for project management. I would love to know what kind of features are mandatory for you for it to be usable.

We use Trello at work (small company, < 5 users) which works well but you have to be a bit careful. e.g, we move the "done list" every sprint into a separate "Done Archive" board, so we can easily go through and see what we have done. Great for QA etc.

Problem with Trello is that it solves the doing aspect pretty well, kanban style, but is a pain to add and work with "issues" for long term planning.

We use Redmine for our issue tracker and find it can be a bit annoying going back and forth.

Might move to Gitlab as it has an issue tracker + kanban with CI integration...

GitHub itself already seems to match your needs. Of course just in case the mentioned projects are all about coding. With git commit messages you can point to specific tasks, which in turn can be organized like a kanban board à la trello.

We used all kinds where I am employed....JIRA, Asana, Trello, Monday, Google Sheets....we keep moving from one to the other and back again.

My point is that the tool you pick is, IMHO, much less important than the process you built around it. If its an early startup and you are bootstrapped, go for something cheap, build some process and, most importantly, discipline and you can make just about anything work.

To answer your question though, Asana was probably my fav of the list above and you can work on multiple projects with an different set of users.

If you don't tell more specifically what you need, you are just going to get a diarrhea list of links, every commenter shouting out couple of random names.

Most project management tools support multiple projects with permissions, but are massively different beyond that.
