Turnkey website for factories on Alibaba.com

A lot of factories which are listed on Alibaba pour in millions of revenues but yet they have dated websites or no website at all.

    Solution
Provide pre-built websites tailored to the needs of those factories.

This could be done by scraping data from Alibaba.com and using that data to populate open source platforms such as Magento (e-commerce) or Wordpress with the company’s information and catalog of products.

The process can be completely automated:

    Crawl Alibaba for companies.
Pick a theme randomly or heuristically (depending on the company’s industry for example). Themes could possibly be generated on the fly.
Scrape data such as company name, logo, location, industry, product catalog and populate the database of a simple CMS or e-commerce system.
Put the website online at http://companyname.turnkeywebsite.com
Have a small banner on top of the website with a call to action to buy the website for X$/month.
Email or message their company’s website URL and an introduction text (e.g. “We build this website for you, check it out!”).
The same idea and process could be applied to sellers on Ebay, Amazon, Yelp or even freelancers on Elance.com.

wix for factory with pre-built page seems cool, is it going to be localized too??

    2. 1

This is an excellent idea. I once tried something similar - took outdated websites, build a better one, and send them a link to buy. It didn't work; people didn't care enough to buy.

This approach is much more promising. It's also relatively easy to validate. I'm interested to work on this if you are looking to partner.

    3. 1

Uhh, why haven't you done this? It's a fantastic idea! If you need a partner I'd love to come on board.

Social community that helps lean entrepreneurs to have problems (to solve)

Very good stuff i love it

Thanks buddy, it's entirely developed with bubble.io :)

Thrift Shop fashion notification app - individuals who go thrifting to try to find high fashion steals may be willing to bet 3$ a month in order to be the one of the first notified of a Gucci jacket processed in store that sells for 40$ but retails for 500$.

    1. 1

Thrift shops could skyrocket with this !

  4. 3

An app that converts code snippets between languages :D

  5. 3

    Here are some of mine:

    -Forms written in Markdown.

-Automatic creation of anti-tracker extensions settings for websites

-A online portal to compare current price of items in cart across various platforms such as flipkart, amazon, etc and provide the best deals available.

-Create a script which would scrape sites like developer.android.com and add the latest versions of the libraries in your android project.

-A system that takes important dates like birthdays and anniversaries of our friends and relatives, possibly from Facebook or manually entering them, setting a reminder for us and suggesting gifts we can buy for them based on the relationship and the nearest possible place to get the gift.

Some 1000+ ideas could be found on turning popular Zaps on Zapier into simple, single-purpose apps. https://zapier.com/apps/integrations

    1. 2

I like the idea behind this post! I hope you don't mind, I edited the title and body a bit to give people clearer instructions.

      1. 2

You did it right ! Thank you

    2. 1

Love the Birthday/Anniversary one. I'd use an app like that.

  6. 2

Auto detailing shop management software. Really just scratching my own itch, but I'd like to bring it to market for other shops.

    1. Tutorial Links portal that sort by publish dates/skill level- there are so many outdated tutorial links out there, this new portal would allow user to request tutorial at new tag combination too, like:
      (+node, +express, +2020, +nginx)

    2. Easy way to monitor outdated software packages in production- Recently ran into old mysql2 packages being used in production that no one dared to touch since 3 years ago. Logging into each pod to look at package.json takes a lot of effort for micro-service clients.

I am thinking something easy to tag onto (like sentry) that scans the current package.json and export it as a prometheus metric, and visualize it with d3 (where really old packages would be a big red warning compare to green ones which are more recent)

You can see that most of my ideas are time-based (to detect old tutorials and old packages being used), they come from client needs.

    1. 1

Are you familiar with the npm outdated command?

      1. 1

That's good to know! I was thinking more around viewing a fleet of docker containers running in production that hasn't been touched in months. (In some cases the original developers left)

I will use npm outdated to generate reports too, thanks for that!

Idea: Something following in Metafizzy's footsteps of building attractive-but-complex UI plugins, having a free license for personal projects to help the plugins gain popularity, and having a paid license for commercial use.

I've always found plugins fascinating, because unlike most software projects, they're things you can actually "finish" instead of continuing to tack on feature after feature. You also don't have to provide support for them. Thus they can provide something akin to truly passive income.

Ofc this is a fatal solution-in-search-of-a-problem type of idea. It's better to start with the problem: identify the specific market of customers who have that problem, assess whether that market is reachable or whether they find that problem valuable, and then come up with the ideal solution. But I'm fairly certain there's a solid market of developers and entrepreneurs who have the problem of "want a cool good-looking website but don't have the time, money, or skill to build it all from scratch."

    1. 1

This is something worth doing !

  9. 1

Aggregator of messengers. It will be a desktop application where for instance on the left vertical bar displays all connected messengers (telegram, whatsapp an so on). You can see a notification about new message and from which messenger it came. You'll can choose a messenger and reply to it from this application.

What do you think about it?

  10. 1

Nice @saadmrb but don't you think ideas are everywhere, and often not attractive.

How about sharing an execution strategy?

    1. 1

True, you need to propose that !

About ideas: People should publish high fidelity ideas that keep them up at night, best ideas aren't everywhere, https://www.330ramp.com/blog/2019/7/8/an-idea-is-only-worth-so-much.

Public calendar for product launches, it is not revolutionary but i think it would benefit entrepreneur to gain traction

    1. 1

This is something @Producthunt should do, I've told them that before and they said "no it's something secret"..

      1. 1

At the begining i ve planned to make it for ebooks, books, music etc but i change because some website does it and i can 't do it better, Now i hope that product hunt will not kill in doing this .

        1. 2

It could also work for niche areas, like music albums, fashion, books etc..

          1. 1

YES I'll try some different things, thanks. Your project looks awesome good luck

An Google Search API, allowing unlimited searches.

    1. 1

It's interesting but how can you do that technically? It interesting because you can make a service for marketers and get a profit from my point.

      1. 1

I specialize in web automation. I've already created an API that does this over at RapidAPI (https://rapidapi.com/apigeek/api/google-search3).

        1. 1

Сan I send 50-100 requests per second through one month? If I need to update organic search information for 100 million of phrases each month?

          1. 1

I've never had that many queries. It would be interesting to test out that with a load test. Can your current solution handle that?

            1. 1

No I have no solution but has an idea how to handle it. Buy two servers on amazon for example and start on each server 25 browsers with unique proxy, then execute one request per second.

              1. 1

That can get expensive and difficult to manage with 25 browsers each server.

                1. 1

Yes, it is. But I don't see alternatives.
