Prove It!

We all need motivation and accountability.

I've seen it countless times here on IH and everywhere across the Internet -
"How do I stay motivated?"

Different approaches of course, work for different people but I have seen some consistency when doing my research:

  1. Document what you are doing out in the open
  2. Find other people with the same goal/passion
  3. Reflect on progress

The Problem

I've tried the apps out there, check boxes just do not cut it. There's no accountability, there's no looking back at a particular day, and most importantly, there is no: "Wow, Look at the progress I've made!"

My Answer

I've created the foundations for the app I want to launch and it's called:
"Prove It!"

Prove It! addresses the problem by having the user:

  1. Commit to something (Like building an app for example)
  2. Record bite sized clips of your progress
  3. View progress by seeing Prove It! created mini movies
  4. And if you're in the need of outside motivation: For those who choose to share their journey, the clips and mini movies would be presented in a community-like fashion (Search for a commitment, then find people sharing their journey).

I have had a bit of trouble figuring out my target audience. But I do know it would cover a somewhat wide range of people. There definitely are those who are less keen on putting themselves in front of camera (especially like myself), however, I highly recommend trying it! It really has been a motivator for me as I've documented my progress while making the app. And of course, you wouldn't have to publicly share anything.

Feedback And Trying the App Out

I wanted to get some feedback on the app before launching the landing page (which I already have made but it definitely needs some attention). The app is also not available for test users, but that would be my next step!

With all that being said, I would love to hear your feedback on this!
What do you think about the problem, and would the solution be something you would use to address that problem?

I like others, have so many ideas I want to throw at this, but I kept hearing a consistent theme when listening to @csallen's podcast: Build it quickly and validate. So that's what I'm doing. I put my perfectionism and dev personality aside and just built something.

Thank you again to this community and I look forward to hearing from you all!
