Psychology of Pricing: Which would you pick? Design A or B?

Update: I completed all the assembly PDF/documentation guides... built another full kit to catch any Bill of Materials mistakes, missing parts in packing, etc. and just to increase my confidence level that this electronic kit/design works -- every time! Unlike a software product, I can't "patch" this after the fact. So it should work right the first time.

I also made some changes to my Landing Page after reading some topics about pricing. Which would you pick? A or B?

B: https://i.ibb.co/fnrLw4q/newMPKit.png

Interested in your opinion, and the "why" of it. Thanks!

Both are nice, but I believe you should also add the full price in strikethrough (being a limited introductory offer), si you kinda create that FOMO feeling. Also, by doing this, the colors would help making the limited price stand out. I threw in a quick mockup, hope it helps 😇

Was thinking about that... I added a pricing table near bottom of page, and I think that's where I'll put the strikethrough pricing.... just don't know what IT will be yet.

I'd go with B, the $119 price. Psychologically it feels a lot cheaper, even if it really isn't that much cheaper. The red without the trailing slash / feels better, too.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, that's the specific area I targeted in the change.

The red color, less syllables, clearer number. Not so obvious, the relationship between 1010 and 119 (vs 129).

Why don't you add the assembled kit price to the header also? It has some benefits:

    • You show an option for people who aren't confident enough for pure DIY
    • At the same time you give DIY'ers a nice 'discount' if they want to do it themselves.
    • If the assembled kit costs around $229, people understand that you charge ~$100 labour costs, which would mean creating a kit should take less than 2-3 hours of a skilled person.

I like the first full sentence better as a headline ("The DP-1010... as a DIY KIT"). You can move "DP-1010 Mic Preamp Kit" with "Introductory Offer".

Consider describing what this thing is for, and who benefits from it. I'm probably not the target audience, but I also have no clue what makes this thing special :)

Thanks! Great idea about advertising the assembled price! Now need to find a place for it...

I was debating whether to repeat pricing at bottom of page. But now that there could be another column for assembled price, I think I'll do that and show the 2 side by side.
