Free forever with no account is brave and rare in 2026. Most code editor projects either get acquired, pivot to paid, or quietly die when infra costs catch up. The interesting question is what your sustainability path looks like, because AI chat costs real money per session even on the lightest models. If you can answer that publicly (sponsorships, optional paid tier for power users, hosted infra fees), the dev community will trust the project more. Everyone has been burned by 'free forever' tools that disappeared the moment the founder got tired.
