Public learning community
Hey, everyone!
I'm always was a fan of the idea of learning in public. I think it adds to your learning process a lot of motivation. Sometimes it even leads to finding new community or like-minded people.
Doing something in public isn't a new idea. You can find great resources like https://getmakerlog.com for making in public, https://cowriters.app/ for writing in public.
A great example of learning in public is #100DaysOfCode and #100DaysOfX challenges on Twitter. They are very popular and they helped me a lot while I was studying coding.
My idea is basically a merger of these products. I want to create a website where you can choose the topic and make a commitment to learning it. I want to add gamification like streaks or achievements so you can maintain your habit.
Each day you should post something you learned on topic and other people can comment and discuss this. Maybe even add roadmaps on certain topics to help people learn them.
What do you think of this idea?

I think it needs a focus though. So if I wanted to sign up, what would make me feel like I belonged and should contribute? Part of the value, I think, is being around likeminded people.

You mean to focus on the learning topics, right?
Maybe I'll start small from the thing I know - programming. And then I can add more wide topics.
Yes, learning topics, but also bearing in mind there will always be cross overs of interests.
So you can have devs who are interested in communities.
Or devs who are interested in business.
Or community builders who love business, marketing and education. (That's me!)
(And many other different scenarios)
You can't please them all at the beginning, but finding a focused place to start will help with the crossover/connections.

Yes, it's pretty much simillar, but mine going to be focus on learning, everyday posts and community. I think it's a bit more simillar to Makerlog in that way.
