Puppetry – free automated testing tool for non-developers

https://puppetry.app

For many years we have been trying to involve QA engineers into automated testing, but all in vain. They are great professionals, but no coders. After some research I found out that there are codeless testing tools, but they come usually come at a cost… So I came up with an idea to build a cross-platform app where one can leverage the power of Puppeteer (Chromium API) without coding, but by using GUI. What came out of it you can find at https://puppetry.app . Being a developer, myself, I now still prefer the tool as it saves my time – no bugs in code, no need to consult all time with the documentation and more.

I would love any feedback

Watched the video. This is awesome!! The biggest worry for me would be having the assertions decoupled from the webflow. Could you say check this is visible/here etc. On the webpage instead of having to add it to the command list?

Do you mean one cannot set assertions directly during recording? The recorder was added just recently, I'm still working to improve it. Actually I have an idea of setting test steps (command/assertion) straight on the selected element in the recorder (similarly one can do it in the test cases - https://docs.puppetry.app/test-step). Need to think it through

Yeah, exactly. For context, I am building a no code platform for SaaS companies and I really love the idea of testing being incorporated. So, I'd loved the way you could set up a test with the recorder, my only concern was the assertions felt way more technical that the recording.

As for assertions https://docs.puppetry.app/test-step/page-assertions and https://docs.puppetry.app/test-step/target-assertions I tried to do it a simple as possible . For example target.assertPosition - you simply assert one target is left/right,above or below the other one. But any idea how to make it even simpler would be much appreciated.

Mostly I'm just thinking clicking the div and saying is it in existent or is it equal to some value while on the recorder.
