Q&A events suck! Can we build something for this?
If you've been to a Q&A event the mic is usually passed around and you have to wait for your turn. The same happens in university where one lecturer teaches to 100's and there's no room for interaction.
What if there was an app where people could talk into their phones and be heard by everyone?
The app lets users enter into a chat room where they can speak into their phones and using VoIP, connected to one main device(smartphone or laptop connected to a speaker), can be heard by everyone. Users can enter this chat room with an exclusive link. There can also be a live poll feature where the speaker can ask a question and users vote anonymously.
Use cases: 1) Any live Q&A event, 2) University classes, 3)Q&A for podcasts where listeners can ask questions live etc.
Does this sound like a good idea? Does something like this exist? Thanks

Hey, sounds good if I got it right. I think you major concern was with offline Q&A sessions with microphone. Yes they have issues. From my experience I enjoyed how things were organized on KRUPA design conference in Kiev. They used this tool – https://www.sli.do/
We were not talking, but just typing questions, all of them were projected on the wall. Some of them were picked to be answered. I liked that and explored that tool after. They had polls and other stuff.
If you are really interested in this Q&A thing you can just start from their success and do better for smaller niches. I bet they have a lot of problems that make people upset. Just research a bit.
