Q: Where would you rather watch a live stream? YouTube or Twitch

Trying to motivate myself to do a live stream where I work through a fresh product/company build. It will be my first live stream, and I am not sure what platform to use. Send your opinions my way!

Which platform is better for a livestream? YouTube or Twitch?
  1. YouTube
  2. Twitch
  3. Neither (leave a comment below)

Great question, Taylor! Honestly, YouTube is the better option if you’re looking to build long-term reach since your live streams stay searchable and can continue bringing views even after the stream ends. Twitch is amazing for community engagement in real time, but discoverability can be tougher unless you already have a following. I had the same dilemma when I started streaming walkthroughs and reviews for streaming apps, and I leaned toward YouTube because it lets me easily repurpose the content later. If you’re curious about streaming platforms and content discovery, I recently discovered one while testing Magis TV

Twitch. I don't really like YouTube's UI as much.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you care if someone has their chat enabled/disabled?

        Chat must be enabled!

Good plan. Chat enabled. Trying it out :)

Live stream on twitch, then upload video to YouTube

Most people like YouTube until they start using Twitch, then Twitch is the 100% nicer choice
