Hello IndieHackers community,
I am currently working on a project that involves offering a service to enterprise customers, a significant part of which relies on certain open-source software under the MIT license.
Given the nature of our clientele, we are contemplating the necessity of a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the providers of these open-source software tools. Enterprise customers often have higher expectations regarding service reliability, support, and liability, and hence we are trying to ensure we are on the right side of things.
My primary question is this: Are we obligated to enter into an SLA with the open-source software providers purely because our service is targeted towards enterprise customers? If not, are there any implications or potential risks we should be aware of in deciding not to pursue an SLA?
If you've had experiences in similar scenarios or possess insights into the legal or practical aspects of such situations, I would appreciate your advice and suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your time and shared wisdom.
Best,
