Small milestone but meaningful: Queryra (AI semantic search for WooCommerce) just crossed 10+ active installations on WordPress.org. The plugin now shows up in directory search results for the first time.
What took so long: WordPress.org counts installs via wp-cron pings — only when a site has traffic. Zero-traffic demo sites are invisible to the counter. Took me two weeks to figure this out.
The pattern I noticed: for 3 weeks in a row, a new organic user has shown up on Wednesday or Thursday. Always someone who found the plugin on WordPress.org, installed it in 5 minutes, and started testing immediately. No cold outreach, no ads.
Building in public means sometimes the most useful data is timing. Tuesday posts seem to drive Wednesday installs.
Next milestone: 20+ installs. Then a paying customer.
nice work on the 10+ installs milestone. we're building Kintsu.ai which takes a different approach to WordPress AI. Instead of just search, we let you edit your entire site through natural language chat. works with existing sites and any theme. the WordPress AI space is definitely heating up, but most tools only handle new sites. we focused on the bigger problem of editing EXISTING WordPress sites. check it out if you're curious about the broader WordPress AI space.
Congrats on Kintsu! Natural language site editing is a genuinely different problem than search — you're replacing the editor, we're replacing the search bar. The WordPress AI space is definitely fragmenting into specializations. Good luck with the launch!
